NJScott 15 Posted August 16, 2012 I think it was all of the various positive experiences posted on here re: EFGA that finally made me join online today, sight unseen (well, not exactly; I drove up there a year ago, but there was an event going on so I never got to see the place). How can you beat $60 ($30 one-time initiation fee; $30 for the year) for me and $5.00 for a junior membership for my nephew? Hope to bump into some of you palookas up there in the future. Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted August 16, 2012 Welcome, I hope to see you guys there sometime or another. DamjanBlues and I meet up there once, what a great guy. We are planning to go meet up again maybe this weekend or next week. I'm just waiting on my gunsmith to call me and I'm going straight to the range. A very friendly place for the most parts... NJScott 15 Posted August 17, 2012 Scott - where is it? I'm still looking for a home range. James: Damjan beat me to it, but here is a link giving pretty comprehensive directions: http://www.efga.net/directions Again, I think it's a no-brainer as to joining this club. Even though it is probably a good hour away on a good day, it seems well worth it. Plus, you can do a variety of things besides just using the range: you can buy some ammo at Wal-Mart in PA; check out the Sands Casino in Bethlehem; go to the Farmers Market in Allentown. I usually make a day of it if I head west. I'm thinking of going tomorrow during the day. I'll know for sure in the mid-morning if anyone wants to meet up. I'm bringing my Mosins, my S&W 686, my XDM40 and my Taurus 1911 if I go. Regards, Scott
Lalo 13 Posted August 17, 2012 I joined last week and spent a few hours there last weekend. I was able to sneak out of work tomorrow so I'll be heading out there at around noon.
JamesC 2 Posted August 17, 2012 That's a serious haul for a range but I see what you mean about making a day of it.
SgtToadette 59 Posted August 17, 2012 I joined last week and went Monday night. Unexpectedly became part of a Bull's-eye shoot. Very good experience. It's a great range and would be worth 3 times what you pay for it.
cutterOne 0 Posted August 17, 2012 Hey guys, I'm gonna be joing EFGA soon (like, probably this weekend). I was just curious, as a member are you required to attend the monthly general membership meetings they have? I ask only because looking at the calander on the website it looks like the general meetings are held on week nights and since I don't get home till late from work (travel from NYC) don't know how many/if I can make these on any regular basis. If any members can let me know that would be great. Thanks

Daedalus 19 Posted August 17, 2012 Dang! I joined in January and haven't made it there yet! Ridiculous when you consider how close I live. Broken leg - then work - then family. Yuch! Soon I hope.
cutterOne 0 Posted August 20, 2012 So the Wife and I stopped by Sarco this Saturday and joined EFGA. Was gonna head to the range afterwards but the car started acting up (wound up going back to the dealer to be serviced). Still, now that we've joined I plan on going in the near future. stever 16 Posted August 21, 2012 Can Anyone tell me the hours/days the range is open for use? Also, do all memberships expire at same time of year? If no, do they pro-rate dues if joined late in year? Is range open all year? Do I get a real membership card mailed to me promptly if i join through EFGA web site? Is there a sign-in sheet at range in case travel exemption brought up in NJ..Web site nice but limited info.. thanks in advance
RecessedFilter 222 Posted August 21, 2012 I believe the range is open sunrise to sunset. Not all memberships expire at the same time...they used to december 31st but now it's a year from when you get your ID card. Range is open all year I believe, yet some ranges close sometimes due to maintenance, shooting comp's, etc. It gets really cold in the winter though so I tend to shoot less and shoot indoors at another range for the few cold months. Once you apply, you get a temporary ID card good for 30days. Once they get your application, they will process it and send you the real ID card. There is a sign in sheet, more so for security reasons I think. I'm pretty sure there are more NJ members than PA members so you have nothing to worry about, just shoot safely and you will never got bothered. Yes, web site is limited and not a super fancy site. Check out the calendar on the site prior to going to the range in case there is activity going on and one of the ranges is closed. And your welcome! A-Tech 8 Posted August 22, 2012 ... Check out the calendar on the site prior to going to the range in case there is activity going on and one of the ranges is closed. I actually have their calendar synced to my phone. If you have an android phone you can just add the calendar. Very convenient.
