Are the AR .22cal look a likes going to be included in this ban? Or classified as an assault rifle?

Like the M&P 15-.22 , Mossberg 715T, Colt M4 tactical .22 ??

I think he's assuming that AWB 2.0 (mentioned by the President during his speech today) will get passed by congress.

I think people got surprised by how many Republicans voted for the crap in New York too... I was skeptical in the beginning but this crap isn't going to stop any time soon unless SCOTUS intervenes, and that could take years at the rate they do things.

I think NY legislators only make about $80K per year. So you pretty much have to have a second job - it's not that much different than NJ when it comes to cost of living.

 

Federal Congress is different, those guys have to keep two separate homes. They don't have a full time job anymore. So Congressmen are far less likely to vote for something that could cost them their job and perks.

Being from Long Island I can tell you the the only difference between a republican and democrat on long island is the R or D after your name they both love to tax and spend. Gun rights went the way of the doo doo bird when all the WWII vets died off.

Only rifle that is exempt is a .22 caliber lever gun, or the 1860 Spencer (which has a 7 round limit anyway).......
