Shawnmoore81 623 Posted January 21, 2013 Is the sonic cleaner worth the extra money?
JonF 79 Posted January 21, 2013 No. IT doesn't really produce a superior cleaning to any tumbling method and your batch sizes are a lot smaller too. Ok for maybe 50 rounds of rifle, but not if you do any sort of bulk shooting/reloading.

gimmemym1 34 Posted January 22, 2013 Wet tumbling. I started a month ago with a thumlers model b and I am extremely impressed. Comes out looking like brand new brass.
Njbanshee 9 Posted January 22, 2013 After much research, I chose the thumbler tumbler. It cost a little more, but you get what you pay for. I haven't got mine yet, but I can't wait.
Socom 19 Posted January 22, 2013 I personally think my opinion don't wet clean unless your doing rifle but that's just me! Also an ultrasonic is good for cleaning guns and other things also
NJKen 23 Posted January 22, 2013 Here is my opinion from someone who does both... Ultrasonic + Decent clean when used with something like hornady 1 shot ultrasonic cleaner concentrate. It comes out very clean Untrasonic - you got to dry all the brass and its not like new shiny Tumble + comes out looking like better than new, removes any burrs. Tumbler - takes a lot longer to celan, makes noise, makes dust. I have not tried wet tumbling yet but I may in the near future. Ken
Neoisnotthe1 0 Posted January 22, 2013 I have used both tumbler and ultrasonic. I like both and they have advantages and disadvantages. I am interested in the wet tumbling with SS media. This is the first I heard of it though. Any links for the SS media and what is used for the "WET" part?
Urban Grunt 44 Posted January 22, 2013 My Ultrasonic cleaner can do 300 ,223 in 480 seconds, rise with hot water, dry time 30-45 mins. All i want is clean primer pockets and clean insides, showboat shine on brass isn't important to me.

halbautomatisch 60 Posted January 28, 2013 in an ultrasonic cleaner i use lemishine and dish soap. comes out just like ss tumbling, Yeah, I know about lemishine for brass, but was wondering what would be best for cleaning decades old crud and grease off gun parts? aguilar64 9 Posted January 28, 2013 What do you guys think of the Turbo Sonic 6000 Ultrasonic Case Cleaner for guns, some of them with Duracoat?
halbautomatisch 60 Posted January 28, 2013 I use a specific ultrasonic cleaner/degreaser that I purchased from brownells. Thanks, I would assume you think it's worth the extra $$$$$, is it good at taking off really stubborn crud?
halbautomatisch 60 Posted January 28, 2013 Yeah totally..... I mean it needs to be done sometimes twice....a little elbow grease as well... http://www.brownells...89.aspx?ttver=2 http://www.drugstore...40?catid=186719 DONT laugh....use a water pic to get in TIGHT spaces that a brush cant get too.... we need to get a new one as the last one failed.... What I do is soak the frame action etc....then takes come of the solution and filter it in the water pic and use it for tight to reach places...then re-soak etc... Then use compressed air to blow the rest out... NICE AND CLEAN ! Thanks again! that's helpful advice. WOW, that cleaning solution is pricey, $88 a gallon!
