Krdshrk 3,877 Posted February 2, 2013 Throwing an optic on it = won't fit in the stock....
Adam 6 Posted February 2, 2013 Just looking for something to throw on it for shits an giggles. Can take on and off easy, quick zero and plink away. Rifle will soon be stored in my 5.11 72 hour pack, and the optic with it.
Damjan 73 Posted February 2, 2013 Lookong for the same thing for my AR-7. Thinking about a cheap bushnell or tasco from WallyWorld.
Blueskybob 12 Posted February 2, 2013 Like intercooler said, any of the red dots should work well. The only problem you might have is with the mounting of it. Most red dots are being made for picatinny rails. You will need to get an adapter. I found that these work great! Dovetail-To-Picatinny Low Profile Rail Adaptor http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007BNHFLQ/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00 Also I use the following bag when I want to leave my red dot on. Put a rubber scope cap over the reciever end that takes the barrel to keep it clean. Put everything else in stock and it works well for a range trip. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BR2Z8G/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 Have fun! hd2000fxdl 422 Posted February 6, 2013 An optic on this rifle defeats it purpose and its Intended functionality. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Clintoon Eastwood 2 Posted February 10, 2013 An optic would defeat the purpose for being a easy take down rifle, wouldn't it? Unless you can get a Qd optic somehow.
kman 56 Posted February 10, 2013 Sounds like an opportunity for using a good old fashioned gunsmith to fabricate and attach some sort of scout mount on the barrel. Something small enough to not interfere with iron sights or storage of the barrel if removed. Before the aftermarket industry took off, a lot of gunsmithing was fabrication by individual smiths. Adam 6 Posted February 10, 2013 As i said above, it would be something to add/remove quickly.. so no. It wouldnt defeat the purpose of the rifle or bother the takedown and storage
