ANJRPC anticipates that some of the 43 pieces of extreme anti-gun legislation recently introduced in Trenton will begin to move through the legislative process this month, and possibly as soon as next week. Though no hearings have been scheduled as this alert was released, ANJRPC is monitoring the situation closely and will issue action alerts requesting that you take specific focused action when the time comes.

While we have all been engaged in a variety of different grassroots efforts, upcoming legislative hearings will be the most critical event and the key moment we have been preparing for. When we sound the alarm, we will ask you to take specific action, including attending hearings if at all possible, and of course contacting specific legislators.

ANJRPC is working to organize the largest mobilization of the outdoor community in NJ history, and we need to make sure that no one sits on the sidelines when the time comes. Right now, we're asking you to continue to

write letters to the editor as detailed in previous alerts, and to make sure that you forward our alerts far and wide. If you are a member of a gun club, please make sure that your club leaders are aware of our activities. If you are a gun club leader, please make sure every one of your members gets a copy of our alerts and takes action when we request it.

In the meanwhile, we have prepared

the video above as a reminder to all of us of what is at stake, and to get us all fired up. We believe every gun owner and sportsman in the state needs to see it, so please forward it far and wide.

REMINDERS: The rally for gun owners in Trenton is tomorrow (February 8), and will proceed regardless of weather. Also, today is the last of the Governor's task force hearings, but comments can still be emailed in to [email protected].

Please watch for upcoming alerts.

I am among the biggest critic of ANJRPC. This is impressive, modern, and well done.

So, where's the body of Elmer Fudd and the rest of the board members?

Yeah, I've never been impressed with their efforts, always thought ANJRPC has been rather passive.

That being said, I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do, and I certainly hope they knock it out of the park. I might even join if they can deliver.

Yea I was against anjrpc and angry with them. But after some convincing they do know what they are doing and we need to back them. I will post when they email us for those who do not get them. They will tell us what leg hearings are the ones we need to pack and we need to follow them and go.

    • If you’re going to VA, buy 2 radios.  Program one for here and one for there.  If you guys are buying Baofeng radios do yourself a favor and get a tactical antenna for it,it’ll extend your reach.
    • Both our memories are a bit lacking. 3 bystanders were hit by NYPD bullets and 6 were hit by fragments at the Empire State Building shooting. The bullets later were determined to have passed through the bad guy as I said. He was not a big guy. The police fired 16 rds and 7 hit the bad guy.  Spray and pray?  I think not.  These officers fired until the threat was stopped and everyone is moving. Have you ever tried to hit a moving target whilst you're moving.  If you watch the video from where the police encounter him, the BG draws his gun from his bag, NYPD guys shoot, and the BG hit the ground is about 2 or 3 seconds.  The closest officer is maybe 12 feet or less.  The closest cover are those concrete flower pots.  If the officers chose to take cover before drawing the BG would have had a chance to shoot at least one officer. Know your target and beyond?  Agree 100%.  However, this by the Empire State Building at 9 am during the week.  There are bystanders and traffic in every direction.  The officers had a choice of doing what they did or letting the BG shoot them with his 1911 and shoot someone else. I think they made the right choice and the same one I would have made.  The officers exercised the best option in protecting themselves and the public. The first video is the police shooting.  The second is more detailed and gives you a lot of background information on the shooter. One thing this shows is if NYPD had to use fmj undoubtedly more bystanders would have been wounded perhaps killed.  NJ's hollowpoint law. only creates more danger to the public.
