Selling a Handgun to my Brother

I would like to sell a handgun to my brother and we are both NJ residents. He has a NJ FID card and a NJ Handgun Purchase Permit. Can we make this purchase face to face, complete and send in the paperwork, or does a FFL need to be involved in this transfer?

No ffl needed.Just fill out the appropriate portions of the purchaser permit for handguns and mail each copy to appropriate location

Just remember that as the seller - you must retain the Blue copy of the HG permit with your

Bill of Sale.

The white copy goes to the NJ State Police and the yellow to the local PD

 

I always recommend that the seller write Face to Face sale somewhere on the bill of sale

and include the Make Model & serial number...............
