Damn it was a hot one today!

 

I wound up bailing after like 3 stages, Was running on empty with my energy level, lack of sleep, night shift, and the heat - Just wasnt in it. Better safe going home, I zonked out the second I hit the matress..... ( plus, my hits were pretty crappy ! )

I was not too happy with my movement on a few stages, and I should have shot 2 stages slightly different that how I did. However I shot a clean match and ended up doing well in the standings. It was hot, it sucked, but it was good to be out.

Water was not cutting it yesterday...If I do anymore matches during the summer, I'll have a gallon of ice cold gatorade. Darker clothing was also a big no-no. I felt like passing out after my 4th stage.

Those new "cooling towels" work pretty well.  Mine would have worked better if I kept it wet with colder water. 

 

Next time more H2o including some extra ice.  The frozen gel packs work OK.

 

I do prefer shooting in the winter. lol

Thunderdome worked real well for me, right up until the FTE.  DOH!

I'm not unhappy with how I shot yesterday.

 

The orange crush stage killed me but there wasn't much I could do about it.  Remove those 70 penalty points and I had a pretty good day.

I don't blame ya... I literally drank 2 full gallons of water to stay hydrated yesterday. That heat was brutal... Don't know how I made it to the end.

Yes it was hot, but during the sectional last summer the temps were over 100 degrees. It was 105 on Saturday afternoon.

I can honestly say that I shot a couple of matches where it felt worse than yesterday.

The early stages are easy, but once the day drags on it gets harder to stay focused.

Someone mentioned to me that you should start hydrating the day before.

Also, it was nice to meet and shoot with you Mach.

Was my first USPSA match and I had a really good time.  Very hot and a long day, but a lot of fun.  I didn't shoot very well.  Still trying to figure out how the scoring works and how I should balance speed/accuracy.  I've done IDPA in the past and this was a lot more fun; the stages were much more interesting and elaborate.  I believe I should have put more focus on speed than accuracy as compared to how I did in IDPA in order to score better. 

 

Is the guy from my squad with the customized CZ SP-01 a member here (I forgot his name)?  I really liked his CZ, had one of the nicest triggers I've ever felt.  Would like to get some more info on it and exactly what work he had done.

 

Alec, awesome stage, was a lot of fun trying to to come up with a game plan for it.  Wish I shot that well on all the other stages.
