Tough decisions, Colt CRX 16 vs Stag 2t

I'm looking at a mid range AR and these two are available at the right price locally. Would be used by both right and left handed shooters. Which is the better buy in their respective price range? I believe the Colt can handle 5.56 but it says .223 on the rifle.

Usually anything colt would be the choice but I dont think those rifles are even made in the Colt factory. Believe they are made for them.and I "think" 5.56 is a no go in that rifle

Barrels chambered in .223 CAN NOT SHOOT 5.56, However barrels chambered in 5.56 CAN shoot .223. I would go with the Stag 2T. Here is my opinion. The 2T is more of a fighting rifle. There is nothing fancy about it and they have a good lifetime warranty when you can get in contact with them.  That model of colt is a competition rifle that is using the colt name and is nothing like a fighting rifle, I would not use it to take a class unless you just want to target shoot paper, at that price I would be taking as many fighting rifle and basic rifle classes my wallet could handle..

For the price...go for the Stag...well built guns that the company will stand behind for life...including barrel runout(if you ever get there)...take the extra $$ and get ammo, accessories and and a carbine class...JMHO..I got a model 3 and never looked back..
