ATF to collect data on sales of "certian rifles"

If you buy more than one rifle in a 5 day period, the ATF wants to know who you are.  Applies to semi-autos over .22 caliber with detachable magazine.  If handguns are the guns of choice for crime, why is the government always so interested in rifles?  hmmmm.

First comes 5 day period, then comes 10 day period, then comes a month and then registration and data retention.

Also dont be surprised folks who buy more than certain amount end up on no-fly lists etc.  All in the name of children.

This is just requesting comments as to the feasibility of doing this - which as has been pointed out, is already done in border states. There was a great amount of resistance to that and I think this is an effort to legitimize the collection of such data.
