effd27145 0 Posted October 31, 2014 Bit the bullet finally, placed my order less then 2 weeks ago and then suddenly this arrived at my ffl's door ( Jersey Target Sports, +1 for Henry). CMP Special Grade in .308 since I plan to hand load for it. It's a beauty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DirtyDigz 1,815 Posted October 31, 2014 Sweet, good luck with it. If I may ask, what was the cost shipped to your FFL?

effd27145 0 Posted October 31, 2014 Sweet, good luck with it. If I may ask, what was the cost shipped to your FFL? All posted up on their website, this was a 308 special grade, which is new barrel, new stock, and original/refinished receiver and internals. As so the s/n's are not matching, but I bought this to shoot not collect so that doesn't bother me at all . So shipped it was about 1k. Sold off a few others guns to fund it but I have no regrets. There are cheaper options also that the cmp sells.

Posted earlier, I wanted a purdy gun that I could also shoot and not worry about ruining the historical value of something that was an original WWII weapon. Hence why I went with this model of it. The receiver is post war production anyway.
amish869 6 Posted November 1, 2014 Good luck w/ the M1. I hope you don't catch "Garanditis". I did, and there is no cure. CMP also has a great forum w/ a bunch of knowledgeable guys on it. Highly recommended.

Mikeythumbs 1 Posted November 4, 2014 Cmp specials are $995 plus $30 shipping + transfer/ nics Do you know if they are all 308 or do they have them in 30/06 also. I already have a 03 A3 and do not want to have to stock 308 and 30/
bry@n 195 Posted November 4, 2014 Do you know if they are all 308 or do they have them in 30/06 also. I already have a 03 A3 and do not want to have to stock 308 and 30/06They do but there isn't a guarantee what you get whether it's H&R or SA. I have a 30-06 special that is unfired that I'm considering selling. I just picked up a 308 and will shoot it more because I stock 308. 30/06 is an odd caliber for me. I can bring it by the range or you can stop by to see it if you want. It's immaculate and its a SA. There's also no wait, transfer fee or nics involved then. effd27145 0 Posted November 4, 2014 There literally is no felt difference in operation of shooting a .308 vs 30-06 tho, same enbloc clips, shoots like a dream.
