Scorpio64 5,177 Posted February 20, 2015 This should not come as a surprise to any NJ residents but we are oppressed. A study performed by William P. Ruger, an assistant professor in the political science department at Texas State University, ranks all 50 states on fiscal freedom, personal freedom and regulation. To view NJ results and compare them to the rest of the nation go here. The study is presented in the form of a map where you can click any state to view the three primary indexes with data available for many other factors such as employment opportunity and property rights. It's a real eye opener. http://freedominthe50states.org/
jm1827 284 Posted February 20, 2015 3rd lowest, I am actually surprised we are ranked so high, that means there are 2 states that are more oppressed than us, how sad!

The_Matrix 105 Posted February 20, 2015 Without even looking at the chart, I bet NY and Kommiefornia is worst than the Communist Republic of NJ.
Michael2013 56 Posted February 21, 2015 I AM surprised. That we scored so well.It depends... Look at the "Personalize the Ranking" below, where you can select what matters to you and get the ranking based on that. No surprises here - NJ is #49 for me.
