NEW HK VP9 LE

Recommended Posts

Golf,

Yes, I watched his You Tube review of the VP9. However, quite of few folks say he was paid by HK for the glowing review, so its hard to know what to believe. You really are drinking beer and shooting??

Then don't believe him. Believe us. We own one and they are fantastic! :)

All guns break in some fashion or another, and although I'm puzzled about zee german engineering that came up with that, I wouldn't worry to much about.  Name a gun, any gun, and someone will be able to tell you the specific ways in which it breaks, and they are not even wrong.

Enjoy your gun dude, forget what other people think. Eventually you'll end up owning multiples and like different features for different reasons.

Turns out HK USA lost there export contract with the Germans. Was suppose to be resolved in Sept but no go. May not be till next year now.

Any more info on this or where I can look to keep updated on it? It explains why they're harder to find and more expensive now.

Thanks! I'm curious because I'll be looking to purchase one probably January/February and prices have gone way up in the last 2-3 months. If you remember when you update, PM me too.

I won't be purchasing until late January, early February. I do see them starting to pop up a bit more now. I also asked on HK's FB page and someone there said HK is concentrating on the VP40 right now which is a factor in why they are harder to find. They were told VP9s will be readily available again sometime around Shot Show...IDK if true or not but just passing along some info I heard.

    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
