1 pointScrew the flame suit. If you have the money and you want it for your setup, get it. People spend a LOT more money on things that are a lot more useless...

1 pointIf they didn't Count Bob's purchases, that number would be way down.

1 pointHow about an oil extractor pump? They suck motor oil out the top of your engines for some dumbass cars without drain plugs (looking at you, BMW...) or lazy mechanics. Enthusiast versions can be had with a hand pump or clips to use a car’s 12v Some are quite cheap, you just might have to extend the lines to reach between a fuel can and your tank fill port

1 pointThere is no way you will squibb a round that falls within lead load data. Keep in mind, all else equal, lead bullets will have less pressure and move faster at the same charge than an FMJ. Theoretically, you should have more pressure for cycling, but the bullet will move slower. You can run plated with a higher charge and jacketed even more due to the bullet maintaining Integrity at higher pressure, and no worries about fouling the barrel, velocities may not be significantly faster though.. The term "gas check" is used to describe when the gases get a head of the bullet when too much pressure blows passed the rifling. At high pressure, lead doest seal as well against the rifling as plated, and plated less than fmj. You are on the low side for FMJ, but that just means it will be a minor load, very soft shooting. Depending on your recoil spring it may Fail to cycle worse case, and accuracy may be bad, or good.. never know till you try. You are supposed to run plated bullets with lead data. So that would be a starting charge if it were me.

1 pointhttps://www.estatesales.net/NJ/Somerset/08873/2785848 Here is one; check out photo # 205, thats a 2.5 gal Rubbermaid can in the garage, if they have lawnmowers or other power equipment they almost always have gas cans as well. Hit a few of these and you have more cans then you need and probably lots other stuff too.

1 pointEstate sales are great sources for old style fuel cans at give away prices. Check out https://www.estatesales.net/NJ/Northern-New-Jersey for listings in your area. Last estate sale I went to they had a bunch of them in the shed, I'm already well stocked so I didn't buy any. I would suggest several 2.5 gal cans if you don't have the strength for the 5 gal. size.

1 pointPeel, that you know how to do that, much less what it means. Sexy. I'm sorry to say there is no good 5 gallon can solution since the leftards when all hippie on gasoline cans. We run into the glug glug problem all the time filling mowers. What we did was drilled air holes in the handles so air can get into the can as the liquid sucks the air out creating a vacuum. Old fashioned cans used to have holes in them, there was usually a little yellow cap over a nipple somewhere at the top of the can, but they did away with those when the new and improved nozzles came along. If we are in a hurry, we take the nozzle off and use a funnel. Diesel has a higher viscosity than gasoline, so it's going to decant slower. If you have diesel/heating oil already, look into diesel generators. You don't have to get a giant one, but they are super expensive. you won't have to worry about keeping fresh gasoline and you will already have a diesel reserve. Lastly, if you are going the transfer pump rout, why not get a 55gallon drum and put it on wheels.

1 pointTeam red checking in. Not sure what flipped the switch today.

1 pointRespectfully, what will a picture of someone else do for you? If you get harassed at the range or harassed when pulled over by a cop are you going to say ""KrdShrk" from NJ Gun Forums has one, so you can't harass me"??

1 point@Smith I'll raise my hand....ME, that's who! FWIW do you enjoy throwing hand grenades and then disappearin' back into the woodwork? 3 rounds? What about multiple attackers doing a home invasion? 90 posts in 11 months. Troll much? ~R

1 pointI've been down this rabbit hole along with a couple of my friends, despite my warnings. Unless you're shooting competitively or are very knowledgeable about reloading I would warn you away from things like the Ogive Comparator. It introduces a variable that is just not that important to guys that are simply shooting paper, casually, at 300 yards. There are plenty of ways to find out if your ammo is gonna fit with the most important being; it chambers. It's kind of like getting a borescope. You want to find a good deal on a perfectly fine used barrel? Find a guy that just bought a borescope. It's information overload. I had all the tools and have since sold them off as they were taking the enjoyment of simply reloading ammo that shoots well and works away from me. I have a press, a Chargemaster, and the necessary components. Nothing more as it's just not necessary to what I do. If I was to get back in to competitive shooting, I'd probably try to get the FX auto trickler. That's about as far as I'd go. Good luck with whatever you decide to work up. .

1 pointMy notes said I used 2.260” OAL but I didn’t write anything about seating to the ogive. I don’t remember that being the case IIRC the 77 SMK is made for AR mag length and 77 TMK is very similar. That ogive is what it makes it specifically not a VLD, where Hornady’s 77 is.

1 pointI think this is a great thread. I hope more new gun owners chime in.

1 pointMy views changed considerably. 1). why would anyone need to own an AR-15, it really is just an efficient tool, not the bad black sheep the media makes it out to be. Now I think, everyone should own one. 2). never understood why one person would need more than 100 rounds of ammo. Now I’m nervous with only having 1600 rounds of .45 acp. 3). why does anyone need a gun, once I felt someone could possible tell me I couldn’t own one to protect my family, I couldn’t sit back and take that mentality. Now I feel, everyone should be armed. 4). why does anyone need more than one gun, it is no different than any other hobby, I have multiple golf driver, I have 6 different golf balls I use, I have multiple bowling balls for different types of lanes. I have multiple guns for different uses 5). laws! We’re a needed thing and correct to be implemented. Now, Jesus Christ is an adjustable stock really an evil thing, I look more closely at politicians and their stand on the second amendment while researching. you could say my views on guns have done almost a complete 360.

1 pointThat's incorrect. Reasonably necessary deviations are allowed. They include "collecting and discharging passengers; purchasing fuel, food and beverages, medicine, or other supplies; using a restroom; or contending with an emergency situation". In 2016 Chris Christie had the AG release guidance to provide context around that: https://www.state.nj.us/oag/dcj/agguide/transporting-firearms_guide.pdf Your examples are covered as reasonable deviations.

1 pointWelcome The goal of this community is to bring people together for the purpose of sharing ideas and organizing the movement for more firearms rights in the State of New Jersey. Please treat others the same way as you would want to be treated. No profanity, we are civil. If it is not something you would want to see posted on the cover of your daily newspaper, with your name and picture next to it... then do not post it. In that case, if you want to share something, send it via email or private message. Personal attacks on members or vendors is not allowed. To the same token, no posting of any xxx rated material, nothing too gorey, or violent. Would you want your 15 year old to come upon this here and see their parent or sibling post it. Other than that, no question is too stupid to be asked. Have fun and enjoy.
