  1. I don't recall any part of the statute requiring you to go to THE NJSP barracks that services your home area. Just not a toll road barracks. Wouldn't surprise me if this was just another pothole those with power here behind enemy lines throw in our way. "Hey - he's got a hollow point bullet (projectile only, no case, powder or primer) on his keychain! That's a 4th degree crime you scumbag! Say goodbye to your gun rights and your voting rights forever! You're a felon now!! HaHaHa" ETA: Thank you Pizza Bob! Leave it to the unelected to make the rules we have to live by (the Administrative Code)
  2. http://www.dailyreco...r-next-state-AG Who's from Somerset County and can give us some insight into this guy, our next vice-fuhrer?
  3. The only one of my weapons I keep track of shots fired is my match rifle. Everything else, just blast away until they melt
  4. I bought one of these at the same price on the Black Friday week deal and used it for the first time today at the Frozen Nutz match. Compared to my older Midway mat, this thing is like a wall-to-wall carpet! Definitely worth the price!
  5. Welcome to the forum! Nice 1911 (45acp is one of my most favorite calibers!) I also belong to SJSC (& shoot on the hipower team there) Email me njJoniGuy at yahoo dot com when you're going to be there (rifle match at 0900 tomorrow, then some blasting on the 50 with a 45carbine afterwards)
  6. Bump for those who might be on the fence Come on out and shoot with us tomorrow morning! You , you lose!
  7. As long as the lowers are for LONG ARMS, all you need is a pair of completed Certificate(s) of Eligibility Buyer and Seller each keep one The State is none-the-wiser.
  8. Bump for this Sunday (12/11/11) I thought I answered this one from Medic Yeti, but I don't see it posted Maybe I had a brain fart (not unknown at 57) Theoretically, you could do a double entry ($10 twice) and shoot 6 relays, but you'd have to have a surrogate to go downrange after your relays to service your target. And that assumes a not full line for you to have a second spot. Bring them both on Sunday and decide after you see what the turnout is like. Weather is projected to be clear and in the upper 30's, so it'll be perfecto!!! 0800 registration begins 0900 first shot Come see me on point #1, hopefully on relay #1
  9. Life has come full circle for Jax. He is repeating his father's life (as so many of us inevitably do.) He has Tara, the smart, loyal wife at his side at the head of the table. At least AUSA Potter didn't go to total waste - he took Mayor Hale and Charming Heights out of the picture, at least temporarily. I was sort of surprised not to see Opie come to chapel in the last scene, but I guess they're leaving that one until next season. Something to look forward to in '12
  10. It's so nice to be a Happy White Family So when does wifey #3 show up to make sammiches?
  11. And further on the subject of "Absurd, Absurd, Absurd" with the lifting of the sodomy (and bestiality) ban from the UCMJ, both sides of the Army-Navy game are rumored to be preparing to "do" each other's mascot on the field during the halftime show this weekend. Goats and Mules beware!
  12. I have concentrated almost all of my firearms in 4 calibers: .22lr, .223/5.56, .38spl/.357mag, and .45acp I have both long arms and handguns in all four, including a large number of duplicates. The only exception is the LCP in .380 Not sure it has enough oomph to make a decent rifle caliber, nor have I ever seen a rifle chambered in .380acp
  13. Is it true that the judge's surname really begins with the letter "T" not the letter "H" and it has been purposely mis-spelled to disassociate his name from the content of his ruling?
  14. I am a southpaw and all my AR's are standard right-hand rifles with DPMS ambi safeties and Norgon ambi mag releases EXCEPT for my match rifle which is a Stag 5HL upper on a standard lower. It's great to be able to shoot the slow prone stage without having to break and remake my position every shot. Want to shoot it? Come down to SJSC one of the days we're shooting Frozen Nutz match this winter. First of the 4 dates is December 11. We'll take it over to the 100 yd range after the match (noonish) and you can get a feel for "the other side"
  15. Greetings from Hoodbury! Too bad you shoot at the range where felons (with drivers licenses to leave at the counter) are the most welcome non-member customers and the range staff have sphincters in place of lips. When you get tired of 25yd max and giving up your spent brass, check out SJSC
  16. This (and its identical predecessor from Professional Ordinance) are the only jersey-legal AR pistols (in .223/5.56) around. And neither is in production any longer. The Bushmaster may come back, but with the corporate changes and the factory move, along with the very limited market for this ugly duckling, I sincerely doubt it. They are fun guns to shoot, and certainly attention getters at the range! And they'll make great trench coat guns when the occupy movement comes to your town.
  17. Five years is light time considering they hit Brian Aitkens with a seven year sentence. And I didn't see any handgun violations mentioned in the TX guy's convictions.
  18. Tell that to the Midwest guy whose connecting flight out of EWR was cancelled due to weather and spent many days as a "guest" in the Essex County jail. Then the NJSC upheld his legal-sodomization because to those flaming liberals, FOPA means "Firearms Owner Punishment Act"
  19. Once again, the moral of the story is: If you have firearms and need to travel past the PRNJ, take the long way around. The criminal record you save may be your own.
  20. I don't clean primer pockets of handgun brass unless they are particularly cruddy (muddy range pickups) I clean my 100-200-300yd .223 match brass primer pockets I uniform my 600yd brass primer pockets Slam fires due to high primers in a match are a real biotch!

  22. You Telco shooters should field a hi power rifle team again. It's been 3 or 4 years since your club management allowed participation in the Tri County league.
  23. Depends on how much support it has in the senate and whether Dingy Harry will put it on the agenda
  24. The Edelman's store in Pennsauken was on the southern end of the strip of stores just below the Airport Circle on 130 South. My mid-70's Smith & Wessons were purchased there and shipped to their Montgomeryville PA store (where I was living right after college) Damn - why didn't I buy more S&W 41's for $272?
