  1. What happened with Anthony? He has always come off like a sensitive Sammy but I know he is very high up on the pole in terms of 2A and NJ politics. Or maybe it's the fact that in rush hour traffic he cut me off in that ridiculous gunforhire truck and I almost totaled my truck cause of that guy.
  2. Like most holidays, I usually barbecue so today I threw on some hangar steaks and veggies and made fajitas for some family. I haven't made them in a while so they were incredible. A local brewery (and one of my favorite NJ ones) Flounder Brewery accompanied us with their Iced Coffee Stout which is absolutely delicious. facebook photos upload
  3. Yup. I wouldn't even bother with IO's customer service. That gun is garbage and should be treated as such. Get refund or sell it and treat themselves to a VEPR or something. I am still blown away at how in this day in age, people still do not research a $700 purchase even the slightest bit.
  4. Always have bought mine from LAPG. I wait for holiday sales and it usually comes down to just over 350 bucks.
  5. You will be very happy with the SAM7. Quite possibly one of the best AK's you can buy right now and you got it at a good price. You'll be glad you went milled.
  6. You'll probably have to go the MSAR STG556 route. The Steyr clone.
  7. I am hoping to make this by the way. Maybe my girl too. Will bring some goodies.
  8. Have you ever seen that new-age slingshot that shoots lead balls, arrows, and other things? It had a very high fps but doesn't shoot that far. Impressive accuracy. Hotshot or pocketshot or something. I want one so bad, they look awesome.
  9. Fatty covered most of it. A few things to add. There are multiple companies making receivers but Nodak and Childers will be your most prevalent. Milled are a different story but AMD's don't have milled receivers so that's irrelevant. You cannot build from a flat in NJ. That AMD you posted will be nice but I would opt-out of the 16" barrel.and get a 12.5" barrel with the extended AMD brake to reach 16". That's the way the original AMDs are built and going through the work of building it, do it right. I'd also suggest grabbing a Hungarian fixed rear trunnion and replace the folding stock with an akm stock. Not only is it more comfortable, it will allow you to use a variety of stocks if you ever want to change it out versus the AMD sidefolding metal stock in which you'll have to weld open but also be stuck with. As far as I know, no one makes an adapter for the AMD folding trunnion. Actually I think one company does but it's for another side folding stock. If you don't have any of the machines to build it, buying them will be an investment but you will most likely build more so it will work out. If you have a friend with a machine shop that will help you immensely. Plus machine shop guys could lend you a hand if you get in any trouble. I will say it is a bit overwhelming to build an AK if you haven't before but take you're time and research it before you do and you'll be fine.
  10. That's brutal. Very sad and can't imagine what the scene was like if there were other co-workers there with him.
  11. I'm not sure if you're looking for match loads specifically but if you are looking for range .308 to plink with, there is plenty of cheaper ammo out there.
  12. Also, you have to figure out if you really want the black poly furniture and specific trigger that comes with the misc parts. If that's not something you want, then I'd suggest against ordering the misc parts and buying all the parts yourself. That way you will get exactly what you want. Many of those parts are surplus parts that are easily found in forum marketplaces, GunBroker, eBay, etc. For example, if you plan on putting say wood furniture on it, and want to upgrade the trigger to something else, look into buying those separately. There is no reason to spend the money on the misc parts just to use a bunch of other parts. The handguard retainers and small parts can be found in the same markets as stated above. Apexgunparts and liberty tree are good for the small parts as well. IMO, I'd save up a little more money and buy an import as it seems this may be your first AK. And if you're only going to have one in your collection for the time being, a solid import is the best choice. That's just my opinion, although many AK afficianados would agree.
  13. Everything that you need a press, jigs, etc for is done for you. All you need to do is put the furniture on which is easy and throw a trigger in. Then order a muzzle brake to have pinned/welded on and the bayo lug shaved. I'd order the brake and have it shipped to your FFL. So you're looking at $480, $25 to ship I'm guessing, $30-100+ for a brake so say $555 with a $50 brake. Then pin/weld brake and bayo shave is usually around $60, plus transfer fees say $40. So $655. And you still have to install furniture and trigger. With that said, you are in import territory at $650-700. WASR, Npap, Sar1, Egyptian Maadi, and the new Arsenal fixed stock at $850. That, IMO, will be one of the best buys right now other than the Fine square back VEPR but you need to spend a grand which is probably out of your budget. Import over US made AK all day. If this is your first AK, I'd suggest an import. If you have a few and want something different, then I'd like at US made. Not saying some companies can make decent US AK's but in the end, don't you want an AK made in the original factory with a hammer forged [chrome lined barrel] and original receiver? I would at least for my first couple then play around with a US one.
  14. Curious what the difference is between the BA 8.5" barrel shotgun with arm brace and this. The BA is considered a pistol so you need a permit, but I'm guessing the Shockwave weighs more so it's not a pistol anymore?
  15. All lowers are basically made by a few different companies. Some are basic, some have bells and whistles or look cool or don't look cool. I just hate that fuckin horse haha. If I pay a few extra bucks for a lower I really like, then so be it. I'm not going to worry about a couple bucks, I'm not cheap.
  16. Ironically I received a parking ticket in the mail from Newark as well a few years ago. They had my plate, car, color, everything was correct...Except I was not in Newark that day and rarely ever go there. Taking all the time to fight it wasn't worth it to me so I paid the $40 I think it was. Sucks to hear you're getting caught with one as well. Good luck if you choose to fight it.
  17. Why would anyone care what logo was on another person's rifle, nonetheless the gun that shot you? I hate the Anderson horse for MY rifle that's all.
  18. Because a lot of us can't stomach that stupid friggin horse logo. So Aero, Spikes, etc are all good buys under $100 that have better logos.

I always chuckle when I see people at the range struggling to load mag after mag and you can tell their fingers are like pleeease no more. Haha. Mag loaders are the best. Buy a bunch and put them everywhere.
  20. It's funny because I am the complete opposite. Even though I like ribbed forend's versus smooth or a longer LOP stock versus short, in the end, safety and action release are two of the most important features for me in a shotgun. That's why I am a very avid Mossberg fan and have a bunch of them. The action release is in a place that I much prefer over Remington and I like the ambi tang safety. The only other shotgun I own (other than really old ones) is a Winchester 1300. That thing is unbelievably smooth but I just don't shoot it that much. My Mossy's get more use. It may be on the chopping block soon.
  21. I think you're over thinking this. As BLF said, try them all out and pick the one you like most. Buy extra parts. Shoot the snot out of it. And that's that. Come out to a NJGF shotgun shootout if you want to try out 20+ different shotguns.
  22. Not sure what FFL you will have it shipped to but either your FFL can pin the mags to 15rds or they will keep the mags to destroy. Then you'll have to buy 10rd Glock 17 mags. I've heard of 15rders but never seen them. I'm sure some gun shops sell them or you can easily order them online.
  23. Plus most of us are holding on to our milsurp's and not letting go easily. So what you do find is generally higher prices due to supply and demand. Apparently there is a seller there that has x54R for good prices on crates. Keep an eye out if you need some.
  24. Looks good bro. Sounds like you got sloppy fifths by the time you picked it up :-)
