Good find. I just ordered a few holsters.

Thanks for the link Mustang. For $25 shipped I can't go wrong.

The Tangfolio Force 99 is VERY similar to the SP-01. Almost a cross between the 75B & SP-01. I have one and love it.

The trick to zero-in a scope is to move the reticle to where the shots are going. For example, if you shoot at the center but hit in the 6 ring at 2 o'clock, you need to move the reticle up and to the right. The hardest part is to keep rifle still as you move the reticle. The other mistake many make is trying to fix it in one shot. Small corrections are the way to go.

Is the front license plate optional in NJ?
when_shtf replied to ryan_j's topic in General Discussion
Front plates serve one purpose; the red light camera can get a clean shot of both front and rear of your vehicle. Man I hate this state. -
why is shopping for a new helmet so hard? GAHHH!!
when_shtf replied to pbkid6974's topic in General Discussion
That's my go-to shop. Ron is great. Regarding helmet selection there are two basic shapes; round and oval (or egg). You have one or the other. Shoei helmets tend to be oval and Arai tend to be round. For the most part all others follow their lead. Unless I have experience with a particular brand, I would never buy a helmet online. A helmet must be fit and evaluated. First off, it should be comfortable with no hot (pressure) spots. Secondly it should not move back and forth or slide around your head (with the chin strap loose) when you quickly move your head from side to side. Fitment is a better indicator then price for performance. I'd rather have a cheap helmet that fits properly then an expensive helmet that doesn't. Many helmet tests over the years by MCN and Motorcyclist confirm this. There are $100 helmets that protect as well or better then $500 helmets. A helmet that doesn't fit can injure or kill you...regardless of price. Another note, a helmet is designed to withstand one, and only one, impact. Even if you didn't get hurt, the EPS foam in the helmet is now compressed and compromised. Time for a new one. -

This is what I was going to say. The SR9 is as nice a shooter as the SR22.

Do you consider gun ownership an ideology/political stance?
when_shtf replied to zoid's topic in General Discussion
I don't consider upholding the US Constitution a political stance and/or an ideology, so by default I don't believe gun rights are. There are people that have made the US Constitution itself a political stance and/or an ideology. Of course, I consider those people traitors to our form of government and to the American people. -

I'm a 10+ year customer of Vonage. The sound quality is spot-on perfect (it wasn't 10 years ago) and the features are great. -

I'll take 2 of the 8"-ers. Is Paypal an option here? -
My #1 criteria for my AR's is light weight and centralized mass. As a result I don't hang a lot of crap on my rifle; and if I do I want it as close to the CG of the rifle as possible. Check out the PDQ Ambi Bolt Stop that MAC just reviewed. I would consider this for a new build as I have always found the bolt release a bit cumbersome.

I like this stuff a lot. Great range ammo.

I have the M9, BE9915R & CZ75B. I like 'em all just the same as they are all very similar. Get the one that you get the best deal on...and then get two more permits and get the others.

I have a home range with a 100 yard rifle station and a 30 yard pistol range. Both have a large assortment of "shootables". Due to the noise it gets used very sporadically. 22LR isn't a problem at all and I use it often for that but large caliber rifles (including .223) or pistols are just too noisy. There isn't a home within 1,000 feet in any direction to me, but the noise is an issue. No one has complained to the police (they have no legal basis) but I do get "polite" comments. I can take a hint, so the louder rounds only get fired when windows are closed in the late fall or early spring.

Jim is a great guy...I've bought many handguns from him over the years...but forget being on "his list". You have a better chance of getting hit by lightning then Jim giving you a call to let you know that there is a CZ75B waiting for you.
-
If you like the 75B and the BE99, I would also add the Tanfoglio Force99 to that search. I purchased mine from Jim Flynn for less then $400 out the door. My cheap-a$$ Force 99 is one of my favorite hand guns.

+1 on the Henry lever action. Best of all, it shoots shorts and subsonics.

Anyone have a "Safe Room", and wants to admit it?
when_shtf replied to PK90's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
A gun room in the basement is a great idea, and a great place to put a safe. You can reinforce this room buy using filled block walls, a cement board ceiling (covered with dry wall) and a strong door as described in this thread.- 34 replies
