  1. 34/35... didn't know the origins of the word "ballistic"
  2. if internet ammo sales are banned and things get rough... we should all go in on a pallet if it's feasible from a neighboring state
  3. Yes! The Keg is a great spot... I really don't know how they do up their prime ribs but it's magical...
  4. Wasn't there another thread not too long ago regarding a similar situation? What a shitty situation... I hope it works out to your wife's favor. The other driver sounds like a complete tool. If you're pulling into a parking space, how fast do you need to be going that you can't step on the brakes? I've had plenty of instances of people exiting their cars as I'm trying to pull in and nothing bad has ever happened... not even remotely close... When I was involved in a he said/she said minor collision a while back, I was advised by the officers to head down to the station and write out my own report even though an officer had already completed his paperwork at the scene. This helped tremendously in court
  5. I have a ton of the IMI 556 and it shoots great. Mine have been clean burning and no issues at all. For me, any steel cased ammo burned incredibly dirty... It was worth it to spend some extra coin to avoid having to clean the gun more often
  6. If anyone is ever up in Toronto, I'd highly recommend The Keg which is right by the Toronto international airport. They have the best prime rib I have ever had and a gigantic beer selection. It's a bit pricey but so worth it... Locally, the wife and I enjoy a place called Cliff's Steakhouse in englewood cliffs. Their ribeye and filet mignon are delicious
  7. Yup... I've noticed for sale signs all over town in recent weeks Good for you Howard! Wish I could leave this place too
  8. Oh man I would love to get back to the DFW area. So much great bbq ... Bartley's and Off the Bone come to mind
  9. anchor bar style. love it
  10. Now that you mention it, I think you're right. It was a long time ago, but I do remember Manny going nuts with his magnet around the time he taped the sign on the range door.
  11. Either range should be fine with aluminum cased ammo although bullethole did at one time restrict S&B ammo for some arbitrary reason. Their main concern is for steel core or bi-metal jacketed bullets, which dish out a beating on the backstops and make sparks.
  12. yup.. Ray's was the first shop/range that got me into firearms.
  13. Did I just hear that there's now an amendment to the mag capacity bill to grandfather existing 15rd mags?!
  14. why even let the landlord know? its his right. does the lease explicitly state anything against firearms?
  15. almost split out my coffee reading steves post
  16. It's the least I could do at the moment. Wish I could've been out there with you all today... I'm curious to know what the amendment was to A2761 (10rd mag)...
  17. NJ.com was quick to post a new article on today's votes.. http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2018/03/hundreds_rally_against_nj_gun_control_bills_in_tre.html#incart_river_index Here's a list of what's reported as passed from the article: * A1217, which would create restraining orders in the state allowing family members and others to ask a judge to have a person's guns seized and ban them from buying weapons for up to a year. It passed 59-13, with 4 abstentions. * A1181, which would mandate law enforcement in the state to seize a person's guns if a mental health professional determines they pose a threat to themselves or others. It passed 62-7, with 7 abstentions. * A2758, which would strictly define that state residents need to show a "justifiable need" to obtain a permit to carry a handgun -- meaning they must show they face a specific threat to their own safety. Christie tried to loosen the standard in 2016, but Murphy moved to reverse the move. This bill codifies the standard. It passed 48-26, with 2 abstentions. * A2757, which would require all private gun sales in the state to go through a licensed dealer who can perform an additional background check at the point of sale. It passed 61-9, with 5 abstentions. * A2759, which would create an outright ban in the state on possessing armor-piercing bullets. It passed 75-0, with 1 abstention. * A2761, which would ban magazines in the state that hold more than 10 rounds, with some exceptions. It passed 48-25, with 3 abstentions.
