  1. Year 1986. Brand new S&W model 581 38/357 Bought mostly because it looked so cool to me and that you could use 38 and 357 ammo. Never will forget the first time I ran 357's through it at a dim indoor range. Ah the fire & smoke that it made. Wife was with with me and we were both newbies fresh from a basic firearms course we took together. She thought that my gun had blown up. She had a new S&W model 64. No longer have the 581 and still miss it to this day. But wife still has her model 64. She will never part with it. I now have a few modern auto loaders including a Glock 17. But the 357/38 wheel guns are still first love.
  2. Rock Island Armory. You'll be glad you did.
  3. Telco in Atco. Private, but accepting new members. $200 1st year $150 after that. Open 363 day a year 8:00 am till dusk. Sunday opens at 9:00. They have open house skeet once a week and a web site. 25, 50 & 100 yard ranges (all outdoors)
  4. Last year I got a 2 point ticket in Buena Vista Township. Tried to pay $85 fine but was told court appearance mandatory. (This is becoming more & more common) I too received several solicitations from attorneys to represent me. Prosecutor said I could plead down to a no point offense but it would cost $475 in court costs. I had a clean record so I said no thanks and pleaded guilty to original 2 point ticket. Judge fined me $35 plus $50 in court cost. To my mind it’s nothing but legal extortion. And since it's been a year with no further violations I am now back to zero points on license. My insurance did not go up either

    help me decide

GP 100. can shoot everything from low power 38's to high power 357. It's a heavy gun but that makes for pleasant shooting with the 357 loads. Go for a nine and a 45 on your next round of permits
  7. Oh, never did a ribbed one. Too easy to mess up and sometimes they don't look right when done.
  8. I use a pipe cutter. Then a deburring tool, followed by filling then stoning. Finish of with some cold blue and you are good to go. It's really not hard to do at all.
  9. Favorite, my Glock Gen 4 model 17. What’s not to love? It’s perfect. And believe it or not I was a Glock hater till I broke down and bought one LOL Least favorite, Beretta 92 FS. Hated everything about it. Especially the trigger. Nothing about it worked for me. But the guy I sold it to loves it. Go figure.
  10. I have an RIA and love it. I like it even more than the Springfield mil-spec I used to own.
  11. I have a Gen 4 17. Zero malfunctions. One of my favorite guns
  12. You may save in the long run but that not what it's about for me any way. Making loads to suit me and my guns and the satisfaction of doing it myself. Plus I find it very relaxing and it's something to do during the winter. I use Berry's plated bullets for all my auto loading hand guns and Meister hard cast lead bullets for my 38's and 357's Lee makes fine reloading equipment that is value priced. And you will have no problem selling it in case you don't take to reloading
  13. Government paid for by the people and used against the people. They should all be fired. F**king morons. Someone could have been killed.
  14. Have not been on a bicycle in the last 40 years. I loved riding my bike when I was a kid. Only had one new one but of course it got stolen so all the rest were second hand. The rich kids had Schwinn’s and English racers. Saw this bike in Wal-Mart and had to have it. It’s retro but has 7 speeds and hand brakes. I’m totally surprised how much I like riding it. LOL, I would ride it to the range if only it was closer.
  15. Reloading, vintage small gas engines, flea markets and riding by Schwinn.
  16. I purchased a Escort Marine Guard pump about a month ago. Only have 20 rounds through it. But I like it plenty. Personally I will take a Turkish gun over a Chinese one every time. For what its worth Hatsan has a good rep.

    ruger gp100

Have one love it. Big and heavy but low on recoil. shooting 357 rounds feels like 38+P's. Only 357 I have that absorbs more recoil that the GP100 is a Ruger Vaquero
  18. Hoppes #9, CLP Breakfree, Birchwood Casey rust inhibitor. Bore Snakes between field strips. The regular assortment of mops brushes and rods. But the best thing I have discovered is a sonic cleaner filled with Ed's Red.
  19. Have 9mm carbine that I like to shoot at 50 yards. Iron sights don't work for me any more (old eyes). 22 scopes have a 50 yard parallax. Will they hold up to recoil of 9mm.? Nothing hot just plain ball ammo. Thanks in advance
  20. Way cool. Hope it grows. Speaking only for myself as I don't know how others my age feel...Love my guns more than ever but my tastes and attitude have changed dramatically in what I like to shoot compared to 20 years ago.
  21. I hate Dick's. Will never go back. They suck
  22. 38 lever action great choice but don't count out a 9mm Hi-Point carbine.
