  1. +1 AND every detachable mag I have seen on an SKS (out of state, of course) looked and performed like it was made out of a few tuna cans cobbled together. Leave it the way it is and have fun w. it.
  2. What does it do better than a well designed hollow point (e.g. Gold Dot, Hornady FTX) ?
  3. So the tiny flechettes barely penetrate and that leaves small, non-expanding bullet that penetrates 12"? I'll pass.
  4. Interesting. I only have 1 AR w. the RRA Match and it doesn't get shot too much. I'll have to watch out for that.
  5. Thoughts? It will be a nice step up from a factory trigger. For a couple bux more, you could step up to the 2 stage Rock River National Match trigger. Here's one for $85: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=397314043 After that, you jump up to Geissle, McCormick, Timney etc.
  6. I suggest you read Adam Smith's The Wealth of Nations.

    Mr Beams

I have several on my house right next to the wired lights. I'm happy w. them so far. ETA: These are the ones I have: http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Beams-Wireless-Spotlight-Photocell/dp/B002P6EQPW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1392998946&sr=8-4&keywords=mr+beams Looks like they have more powerful ones now. http://www.amazon.com/Beams-MB393-300-Lumen-Weatherproof-Spotlight/dp/B00BCCNZ7K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1392998995&sr=8-3&keywords=mr+beams
  8. I don't want one of these, but Classic is a great company to do business with... many transactions w. no failures of any type.
  9. 15/20s. If you want to use them in standard mag pouches, just get a sheet of rigid foam insulation and cut it so it fits in the bottom of the mag pouch. This way the shorter mags will be much easier to grab. You can also use a light piece of wood like balsa or cedar.
  10. Good luck finding rock salt, water softener salt or any other de-icing agent these days.... It's the .22 LR of the winter fighting agents!
  11. Very true. I have some in my stores. But was just giving people a heads up that the "meat" in those pails ain't meat! It's hard to find big pails that have actual dehydrated or freeze dried meat in them. I am always on the lookout for Mountain House sales. Their stuff is very tasty and made w. real meat. But it's usually not inexpensive.
  12. Keep in mind, the protein in these meals is Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) aka soy. So don't expect the lasagna to taste like mom's. And there is some conflicting data as to whether the phytoestrogens in soy are bad for men (and growing boys).
  13. IANAL, but I don't believe you have a legal leg to stand on if there was no will. I'd stick with the "nice route". Tell her stories about you and your dad hunting. Work softly.
  14. Doesn't the Mark 23 come standard w. a match trigger? I have a standard USP 45 v1. It's built like a tank and has 1000s of rounds down the pipe sans failure. But the trigger is an abomination for an $800 handgun. I really should get around to installing the match trigger.
  15. Be careful with cheap Chinese welders. When they break, and they will, they are a bitch to get parts for.
  16. 5.45.39 surplus is corrosive. I wouldn't want to use it in a DI gun. Cleaning would be a PITA.
  17. I use a cloth shoe holder to hold pistols. Like one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Whitmor-6082-13-Natural-Storage-Organizer/dp/B002OEJ77W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390846356&sr=8-1&keywords=cloth+shoe+rack
  18. What constitutes budget? For under $100, I'll take the tried and true Ka-Bar all day long. ETA: In case I was unclear, I was referring to the old school USMC type Ka-Bar.
  19. I've also shot a ton of their 9mm and .45 ACP. Never an issue. I just ordered some of this for my fast twist ARs: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2503224613/prvi-partizan-match-ammunition-223-remington-75-grain-hollow-point-boat-tail It's the only brass cased heavy .223 open tip match at that price point. Hopefully it shoots well. P.S. Wolf Gold ammo is made by Prvi Partisan.
  20. I make my own carrot/habanero sauce and I probably have over a dozen different bottled sauces in the kitchen. Can't really say I have a favorite... different sauces for different moods. What you won't find here is Tabasco. Blech.... watered down, tasteless crap. But I find the older I get, the more the picture below applies!
  21. After reading some of the extremely rude emails Frank sent to members who had the audacity to voice an opinion, I am done w. the NJ2AS. I will be joining the new group.
