  1. Pro-tip: Union Pork Store. NJ institution. Weisswurst with Bavarian mustard FTW. And of course Satriale's...
  2. Not a bad price if you're looking for a drag bag for your boom stick. Only certain colors/sizes. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/939171584/midwayusa-sniper-drag-bag-tactical-rifle-case Also, cool Purple Tactical Pistol Case: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/239989/midwayusa-tactical-pistol-case
  3. I'll suggest IOR Valdada First off, IOR-Valdada glass is procured from the same source as Swarovski, Khales, and Schmidt-Bender. That source (Schott) happens to be in the Zeiss family of companies. IOR-Valdada does their own grinding and polishing of the lenses, and has their own proprietary formulas for coating the lenses. Toward this end, however, the IOR lineage of the IOR-Valdada company has had longstanding, prior, technical partnership with Leitz on optical engineering and lens manufacturing. This means that they've acquired their technology and practices for lens making from one of the foremost "fathers" of the industry. The edge-to-edge clarity, light transmission, color fidelity, and overall resolution of IOR-Valdata lenses and lens systems (in weapons scopes produced within the last 10 years), are surprisingly close to the analogous products for mid-range [distance] imaging by Swarovski, Khales, and Schmidt-Bender, from the same periods of production. Where the top-end Swarovski, Schmidt-Bender and Zeiss rifle scopes clearly pull ahead and put distance between themselves and the IOR-Valdata offerings on the image quality attributes (edge-to-edge clarity, light transmission, color fidelity, and overall resolution) is at the higher levels of magnification (beyond 10x). The only major downside to the IOR-Valdada scope architecture is their heavy use of steel alloys vs. aluminum alloys in the scope bodies. This makes the IOR-Valdada scopes considerably more heavy in weight than most scopes in the same magnification class.
  4. Good luck. I did a Light but need to work my way up to a Tough. Great event either way. Let us know the AAR.
  5. Also, take a look at IOR Valdada scopes if you can. Under the radar but considered by many in the know to be the best bang for the buck.
  6. I've never seen so many haters and keyboard commandos in one place. I don't begrudge people for their commercial success or ability to obtain a CCW. Or, blame any pro-2A person or group for not having CCW in this state. But, I've seen that behavior here. It must be a NJ thing...
  7. I have a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP and the eye box is a bit picky. I would probably go with a Nightforce or Razr if I had to do it all over again and go lower on magnification. When shooting precision out to 1,050 yards, I usually only go up to 16-17x max for wider field of view to call the shot and at max magnification the reticle bounces all over the place. I've heard mixed reviews about Steiner. Some people love them and some don't care for them. I've generally only heard good things about Nightforce and S&B other than their price.
  8. Here's my template: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vh8kqmvzhwp88fp/AABV5z3tmm0V7EkW5MAL4vvYa?dl=0 Dropbox is the way to go. Can encrypt and password protect the Excel file for extra protection.
  9. At least according to USSOCOM.... P.S. I'm looking for a KeyMod rail cheap PM me http://soldiersystems.net/2017/05/05/details-on-the-ussocom-sponsored-keymod-vs-m-lok-test-conducted-at-nswc-crane/
  10. I too lay the pipe. I just don't get paid for it. Not yet at least.
  11. All good. Joe is a great guy and instructor. Makes sure everyone in his class is getting something regardless of where they are at.
  12. There's actually one this Saturday in PA that will probably be the best value for your money: http://www.sightsandtrigger.com/Training.html Otherwise, NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home is a good place to start. Massad Ayoob's MAG courses are also well regarded.
  13. Riding in NJ feels like playing a video game with all the road hazards and distracted bad drivers trying to take you out. A riding course will just get you an endorsement and on the road... Becoming a competent rider will take many more miles. Don't take it lightly, man. I've seen too many guys get really hurt. Try to ride with a group when you can. Safety and visibility in numbers.
  14. Mid June isn't really that far away. Accumulate your gear (helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, pants), do your research, and visit bike dealers. Shop for your bike and hopefully have it ready for when you get your license. It can take a while to get up to speed. Read up on Motorcycle Consumer News and pick up a copy of Proficient Motorcycling.
  15. http://www.fostersettlement.com If you want to trade in your EOTech for MSRP cash plus $15 shipping refund and $22.50 voucher, the deadline is a little over a month away. I have a 10 year old A65 I'm sending in for the original MSRP of $479....Winning! If you're really intrepid and Bugsy slick-like, you could start buying up used EOTechs on various boards arbitrage the difference. Also, if you're keeping your EOTech you can still claim a reduced cash settlement.
  16. Nice Taco. I'll leave this article here lol: Why Do Terrorists Love Toyota Tacomas? https://newrepublic.com/article/122925/why-do-terrorists-love-toyota-tacomas
  17. Today only. Seems like a decent deal https://www.midwayusa.com/product/495243/glock-magazine-gen-4-glock-19-9mm-luger-15-round-polymer-black-pack-of-6-with-midwayusa-6-magazine-pouch-black-in-plastic-ammo-can
  18. Stopped by Heritage Guild Easton, a Sig Elite dealer. Mostly because I needed to use the bathroom... I must say, the Sig area was pretty slick. They had 10 different variations of the P220/P226, Sig rifles, Sig suppressors, Sig scopes, Sig red dot sights, Sig binoculars, Sig ammo, Sig apparel, Sig holsters, Sig shot glasses, etc. Cool display cases with video monitors, etc. It will be interesting if the Sig Sauer lifestyle brand takes off...
  19. The NV monocular I recommend is the Night Enforcer (NE) / PVS-14 by Harris (formerly ITT / Exelis). Harris has the Omnibus contract to supply the Army-Navy (AN) / PVS-14 to the U.S. Military, and the NE/PVS-14 is produced in the same assembly facilities with the same component sourcing as the AN/PVS-14. The only difference between the NE/PVS-14 and AN/PVS-14 Is that the latter has to complete U.S. Military acceptance testing to officially confirm it as "mil-spec". The NE/PVS-14 is Gen 3 Pinnacle, Autogated by default. Meaning, you will not get screwed with Gen 2 intensifiers if you buy genuine NE/PVS-14 monoculars. Pricing is about $3,800 each, but LE can usually gain discounted pricing. The Harris / Exelis / ITT warranty on the NE/PVS-14 intensifier is an awesome 5 years - nobody else offers a warranty like that, and on the intensifier tube itself. Quick detach mounts are available to allow you to rapidly swap the NE/PVS-14 between your head mount and rifle rail mount. Just know that you will not want to use the NE/PVS-14 on any rifle chambered for anything greater than .223 / 5.56x45mm otherwise the recoil will eventually damage the intensifier tube (e.g. 'shaken baby' syndrome, literally). I still consider thermal imaging to be a supplement to light-intensified (i^2) night vision. Thermal imagers are principally best for the detection of warm bodies; but there are many environmental and climate conditions that can drastically reduce thermal contrast and detail which makes identification and navigation with them difficult to impossible. Plus, thermal scopes cannot see (sense, detect) through glass or water generally. It reall depend on how the glass filters certain wavelengths
  20. Arsenal FTW. With PK-A Venezuela, Magpul AFG, Surefire light, and BFG AK sling. Will SBR this as soon as I move out of the state next year after the election...
  21. A lot of CTD hate. lol. Understandable. Prices should come down this summer, but an NJ online ammo sale ban (or de facto one if they require electronic reporting of sales to NJ residents) is not too far in the future based on what I'm hearing. Dollar cost average while you can....
