Everyone gave good info so far, here is another example of too weak of an arrow. -
Wait time for FID in Mullica Twp.
jerseygti337 replied to Meissama's topic in New Firearms Owners Corner
Agreed Mullica twp is awesome when it comes to permits. Every time I go in for more the lady is always helpful and usually asks what I plan to buy this time. -
I'm just getting starting into reloading and am ready to throw the lee scale that came with my classic turret in the garbage. Can anyone recommend a scale under $100 that isn't crap?

I put a leer on my Tacoma and love it. I don't really have anything to compare it to but it seems pretty good to me. One thing I would recommend is to get the light inside.

That thing looks like one of my folding hand saws!

Agreed that place is awesome. I go to Maine every few years and always make that stop on my way up.

Nice marlin your gonna love it. I have an 1895g and it's one of my favorite rifles.

Went to Shooters (Tips) today
jerseygti337 replied to rtquig's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I took the class last week and the guy just said don't bring in a loaded gun, nothing about magazines. -
I stopped in there this morning to run some more rounds through my g19 and g20sf and was overall pleased with the experience. After a short safety intro I was on my way. The range is clean and well ventilated and the staff and RSO were very friendly. If anyone is thinking of going there I would recommend it as a pretty well stocked shop.

Love my 20sf. As said before, try some underwood ammo, full power rounds for a great price.

I've watched smaller black bears run up to 100 yards with a well placed 30-06 round through their lungs and firmly believe no pistol round would be a bang flop other then a brain or spine shot, then there is the chance of the bullet deflecting off their skull. Here's what a smaller bear can do with a 2" 3 blade broadhead through both lungs. As you can see there's not much time for any kind of reaction when they run. url=" "] [/url]

Shotguns: Single-Shot or Pump-Action?
jerseygti337 replied to db1775's topic in Hunting, Fishing & More
I should also add, in all my years of hunting I have never got more then one shot off other then drives with buckshot. As with anything else, shot placement is key. -

H&r all day. I have a 20ga ultra slug hunter and its a TACK driver out to 100 yards. If your looking for a dedicated slug gun I don't think you will find much better especially considering the price of them. -
^^^ Every time I'm in that place I get the feeling from them guys that if your not friends with them they could care less about you regardless if you buy something or not. I know a few people who love that place but I really can't see it. Limited guns and ammo and arrogant employees/owners. Ill pass.

Does the permitting of air rifles for hunting worry you?
jerseygti337 replied to woodentoe's topic in Hunting, Fishing & More
I agree with the above poster. I would have I guess that the changes are to generate more license revenue. Allowing crossbows got ALOT more people in the woods that gave up on regular archery. Centerfires for coyotes is going to sell a ton of rifle and coyote permits and I feel the air rifle thing will get appeal to younger hunters or at least open up more areas to safely hunt squirrels. -
Pistol course/instructor?
jerseygti337 replied to jerseygti337's topic in Training Techniques and Tools
Ill keep trying the dry firing but I just tried the brass on my front sight and it doesn't move. I have to jerk the trigger pretty hard to make it drop so I think my trigger control is ok. Getting the brass balanced and extending the pistol is the hard part but once I have a good sight picture the brass doesn't move. I'm thinking its more form related then anything but I don't know. -

I guess I'll give it a little more time to get some more rounds down range. -

I should have added, with my dads colt 38 in single action I can do pretty good out to about 20 yards. My problem is with every semi auto I've shot (glocks, sigs, and a 1911)
