  1. Tough situation to be in definitely but could be a really good opportunity for you. We are moving to SC right outside of Charlotte in July. What parts of NC would you consider? While NC does have a similar permit process if you get a CCW there, which is common, then you are not bound by those restrictions and do not need a permit from what I have been told by other NC residents. I don't know if what Malsua stated is necessarily true regarding NC turning I to NJ but it is true that a good portion of Northeasterners have moved to the Carolinas and others consider an option. Remember, if people can't find work them they aren't moving there. Raleigh-Durham is a big technology, research and even pharma triangle. Charlotte has a big banking industry and lots of manufacturing type of employment. We evaluated High Rock but its a little too far from civilization and I need somewhat of a finance district for work. Luckily my company is allowing me to move down and work out of Charlotte. What type of skills do you have? What do you want to do with your life? Take some time to think it over and research areas you'd consider. Good luck in your next chapter!
  2. I see the US reverting back to the days of Kings and peasants and a famous George Satayana quote comes to mind. I had to stop reading the comments from that story on nj.com There's going to be a major shift in this country forthcoming. Common sense vs. illogical ideals will come to a clash. So is there any chance these officers will lose their "right" to bear arms because they've now been labeled as associates to an anti-government group? (I am in no way agreeing with this just describing as the article does). There's a question on the ATF form asking if you have ever denounced te govt or interacted with anti gotvt groups (not sure of exact wording) so what does this mean for them concerning firearms?
  3. Rte 130 North in Hamilton Square. I may just have to go put a deposit on one in hopes my god damn permits come through.
  4. From what the guy at the counter at the Princeton DSG told me it changes every week, take that for what it's worth. I used to think it was on Tues/Thurs for that store but when I asked about it he said it changes. Some stores though might have consistent same day delivery each week.
  5. So deals like this just goes to show you that gunbot does not work. I leave it open all day every day and it hasn't picked up one of these deals. Anyone else experience this? (yes I have the alert sounds set up)
  6. I hope you didnt answer any of their questions. I'm interested in your second post response for some more details to see how this all went down and what the specifics are.
  7. You're not catching crap for it relax, it was just a question as I noticed. People are so freaking touchy on the internet it cracks me up.
  8. Why are you buying 500 more 9mm when you are selling 750 rds in two other posts?
  9. Brass knuckles and butterfly knife?
  10. My project is getting there. The only things remaining are the upper, CH, and magazines. I am waiting until I move to SC in July to purchase the BCM upper I want and pick up some mags. I have the Magpul MIAD grip and I notice a little play in the fitment. The curve doesn't seem to fit exact and there's a bit of wiggle if I force it even though its screwed down tight. Unless I didn't fit it right. Anyone else notice this? Here's a pic of the slight gap:
  11. The people of this country have lost it....I wonder if they even have "shop class" anymore. Or Home Ec?
  12. Arbelest and FishNHard gave you great advice. I know firsthand that its difficult to live with your parents after college but if you're not paying rent them stay as long as you can, SAVE SAVE SAVE and then have the option to make your choice. When I came back from ASU and had to finish at Rutgers all while working, I lived with my parents. It was tough. When you get older you don't see things the same as each other. But it really helped and I am very thankful for it. But everyone's situation is different and no one can decide for you. Whatever you make, just save as much as you can. Spend 2 years with lowering your discretionary expenses and see where you're at after that, you'd be amazed! But it takes determination. Good luck on whatever you do.
  13. I have a question. If you're looking at how much you can afford for rent, what does taxes taken out of your paycheck have to do with your net monthly income after taxes? Put a quick budget together. Add up all your installment loans and fixed expenses for the month, throw some variable figures in there like gas, groceries, etc. and you're left with what you have each month. Mint.com is a really good personal finance site for budget tracking. there's also a lot of calculators out there that will tell you "how much you can afford" but it does require you to do some work on your part (gathering figures for your expenses and income and such). I assume (correct me if I am wrong) that by "getting out of your house" means you live with your parents still? Or did I read into that?
  14. RAF doesn't have hardly anything for sale. I don't know of any gun stores that way though.
  15. Good topic, I hope to find some good suggestions here as well since my wife will be getting her own 9mm also. One thing I found interesting in the OP's post was this: "Budget under $500, maybe a little more..I can help her out" <---- Do you keep your finances separate or something? (not that it's any of my business, I just thought the statement was interesting). I thought all married men knew that what is their money is really her money!
  16. I feel the same. I am questioning now going to any public range to shoot for fear of safety and also because I don't want to have to witness anything like this happening. I luckily have private land I can shoot on as an alternative.
  17. Well said! I agree with this. Ill tell you he is not speaking on behalf of me.
  18. Congrats! Question 1 is really a good one for people new to ARs. I kind of figured this was normal operation when I put my LPK together in my stripped lower. I noticed the safety selector would not engage without the hammer being cocked. Good question! Enjoy it! Get a good deal from Cheyenne?
  19. Oh wow I didn't know about this and never even thought to search. Nice to know! I'll jump on and join.
  20. For whatever reason I cannot hear audio from this on my iPad, I saw this same video on another site. But the answer to your rhetorical question is obvious. There are some dumb f**king people that populate this country.
  21. That's probably my fault. I don't consider that Princeton even though the mailing address says it is. Princeton 530 Nassau Park Blvd Nassau Park Pavilion Princeton, NJ 08540 That's the store referenced in the title.
  22. She would have a long road ahead of her if she tried to remove a statutory agreement In my opinion. But who knows, I'm not surprised by much any more.
  23. I'm not in the military nor do I have family who have served minus my grandfather, but I am an American and I respect and appreciate what the founders did and armed forces have done and sacrificed to make this country into a great nation. Now I am not so sure. Who in the hell are these people that we have in municipal, state, and federal government positions? The logic, reasoning, and critical thinking of these people is just downright pitiful. That flag is a powerful symbol of our history. 24. Upack is something to look at as well. I have a thread exactly like this too. Walgreens and liquor stores. Home Depot has nice boxes that are reasonable if you need a couple large ones. I am moving to SC in July, congrats on the move.
  25. Yes its a Seekins lower with a CMMG LPK. Good luck with your build! So I will just hold off on getting my upper than until I am in SC and get the buffer tube assembly and stock now. I am so impatient, but I am not about to pin anything. I'll wait until I've moved.
