  1. My seed starting was a bust this year. Neer got around to it. Slightly disappointing. Purchased some gardening soil and composted cow manure on Sunday to top of my beds. Worked it into the existing garden soil. This evening right after work threw in starter veggie plants from Home Depot. Four bell pepper, one banana pepper, three different tomato plants and two eggplants. Will be starting cucumbers, beets, lettuce and maybe beans from seed in next few days. Going to try potatoes and some herbs this year as well. What's everyone else growing?
  2. Not behind pay wall. They all of course claim to have legitimate reasons for the meetings. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/epstein-s-private-calendar-reveals-planned-meetings-with-obama-admin-official-cia-chief/ar-AA1ayweM
  3. Listened to it on demand in the background while working. It was okay. Maybe make a few more people aware that you can actually legally purchase firearms in NJ and even carry concealed now.
  4. IMHO I would say wait. Prices aren't rising like they were. But they haven't fallen as one would expect with the quick rise in mortgage rates over last six months or so. This would lead me to think that home prices HAVE to come down soon. Especially since the Fed will probably raise rates at least a few more times between now and the end of summer. Once fall hits home sales should slow even further. Families like to be moved in before the start of a new school year. Congrats on the firthcoming baby! The great thing about newborns is they don't take up a lot of space! Time is on your side here. I would wait until prices come down somewhat. You may pay a little more due to a higher rate now but you can always refinance in a few years once rates go down. Once you buy there is no renegotiating the price you paid.
  5. Last year's unusually hot and dry summer nuked A LOT of people's lawns. I'm sure a lot of people are experiencing the same. Like Scorpio said, if you put down pre-emergent just wait 60 days and then patch those spots. If you never threw down any pre-emergment then patch away now and after it's fully established treat for weeds later.
  6. It's an "online" town hall discussion that "will examine New Jersey’s changing and often confusing gun laws. This program will not debate the merits of the law, but rather how the law applies in New Jersey." The Mon - Thursday evening talk show guy, Steve Trevelise, has talked about firearms a few times in the past. Could be a good thing to talk about. Many people in NJ don't realize that you can actually purchase firearms in NJ. I can't tell you how many times I've talked to people who think "it's impossible to buy a gun in NJ".
  7. You had me at "rivals rodent products"!
  8. Sorry for your loss. An estate sale using professionanal auctioneers may be worth it. That would definetly take a lot off your plate right now. Definetly not a time you want to be dealing with strangers haggling over prices. They would know approximatley what things are worth , be able to quickly find out if they don't know and tell you if it's worth their time to even be involved. First make sure you take anything that's personal to you that you don't want going up for sale or in the trash.
  9. It says "Pork Roll" right on the Taylor Ham packaging. Just sayen'. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cp5spqLjKVr/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  10. Buy a CZ. Glocks have no souls. Just kidding. Good luck with the different brand of ammo.
  11. Just hand Joe your toaster or blow dryer. He won't know the difference.
  12. I get it. But at same time I don't mind it. Something rewarding in taking care of your own lawn and it looking nice.
  13. Going with Scorpio64's suggestion from years past and picking up some Lesco 18-0-4 with Dimension He's been doing this stuff for years brah! There is a SiteOne that is closer than the big box stores for me. In year's past I thought you had to have some type of contractors license to buy there. You don't! When you sign up it actually asks if you are a contractor or homeowner/retail. It is slightly less expensive from Home Depot by about $5. https://www.siteone.com/en/702021-lesco-dimension-015-18-0-4-30polyplus-opti45-25biosolids-pre/p/356320
  14. Looks like soil temperatures are just about to crack, or have cracked, 50 degress. While I haven't seen much, if any, forsythia yet it sounds like it's about time to throw down that crabgrass pre-emergement!
  15. You joke, but this isn't too far off. There are outfits that use helicopter. Outfits that use full auto in jeeps. Outfights using thermal and night vision. It really is a war. And the pigs are winning. https://youtu.be/mAu9Qfhocxo https://youtu.be/zsSzhnWd4j4
  16. NOT Shoprite but at ACME they have "Buy 2 - Get 2 Free" sale on Campbell's Chunky Soups. Price was $3.99. So some pretty solid soups for $2 a can. Not too bad for the current inflationary fiasco we find ourselves living through. Load up if you like soup!
  17. "it depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is"? To be safe if I carried, which I'm not (yet), I would probably stick with one of the three listed above in the email or the ones being recommended by NJSP or perhaps an attorney.
  18. From Speer's website: "Instead of a large hollow-point cavity, Gold Dot G2 has a shallow dish filled with a high-performance elastomer. On impact, the material is forced into engineered internal fissures to start the expansion process. The result is extremely uniform expansion, better separation of the petals, and more consistent penetration across barrier types through full-size handguns." I believe that is the case with most of the "duty ammunition" or at least what ppl are using for the CCW ammo in the Peoples Republic of NJ. https://www.speer.com/ammunition/gold_dot/gold_dot_g2/19-24226.html
  19. Who owns the "nice little grove of live oak trees" where there are "quite a few deer back there". Asking for a "friend".
  20. Ha! I see what they did there. Feb 22 (2-22).
  21. Getting close to seed starting time!
  22. Found it. So it IS available in NJ. Wife and I both prefer the TX Blended. I think for us Yellow Rose is a little too sweet with a little too much smoke. If you like sweet Scotch it may be more your thing? Plus the TX Blended is $35 compared to $50 for the Yellow Rose. I found the Yellow Rose at Cub Liquors in Middlesex if anyone local to that area wants to pick it up. The TX Blended I generally get from Super Saver on 22 in Somerville. If not close to those areas just ask your local store to get some for you. I would say start out with the TX Blended. And if you like that and want to kick up the sweetness, smoke and proof then check out the Yellow Rose.
