  1. Hey-me too! I coached their varsity rifle team, and taught their phys ed rifle classes while I was there. They actually had two indoor rifle ranges on campus then. Wonder if any of that remains...
  2. They don't think of cost the way we do. Too many to prosecute? That means you need a bigger budget and more staff. No worries, the taxpayers will cover it.
  3. Blast from the past! When I was active in radio control aircraft, I never missed this Haven't had time or flying field access in years, so I haven't been going lately, but this is a very cool show.
  4. I'm not a fan of u-shaped notches, but the sight misalignment featured in their graphic really bugs me. Someone should have explained to the artist how very bad angular shift error is for a shooter.
  5. They should suspend the hourly fee for everyone else using the indoor range whenever someone is shooting a .50 BMG. Not that I think they're going to see much (any?) .50 BMG use indoors.
  6. No one here is arguing they were innocent...but technically we are discussing 'suspects'. There was no trial, no jury, no conviction. 'Dead' and 'Guilty' aren't necessarily the same thing. I have a few reservations, but I tend to side with Apple on this. If the Government is given the keys, they won't bother getting warrants for any future searching they want to do. Snowden's revelations convinced me of that.
  7. That doesn't sound right. Can you cite a reference?
  8. I don't recall "running out of breathable air" being advanced as an argument in the whole fossil fuel/global warming debate.
  9. He wasn't in the best of health, and at age 79, was just over the average lifespan for a male in the U.S. Occam's razor suggests a simpler explanation for his unfortunate demise.
  10. That's kind of what I figured. When I posed the question to Blade-Tech, their response was, and I'm quoting here: "Unfortunately the Glock 17 and the Glock 34 will not fit the same holster. You will need a separate holster for each firearm.". But then, Blade-Tech sells holsters for a living, so I figured I'd get an answer from the real world.
  11. Midway is $126.67 for 5K CCI large pistol, Powder Valley is $135 for the same, plus $28.50 hazmat, which Midway isn't charging this month. And, my comparison above included shipping from Midway, and did not include shipping from Powder Valley, since I didn't see a shipping calculator on their site. I don't have a dog in this fight. Order from PV if you prefer.
  12. Use PV if you like. When I plug the orders into both sites, Midway is a buck cheaper for 5K small pistol primers. And $10 cheaper for 5K small plus 5K large pistol.
  13. Does anyone know if the same holster will work (well) for both a Glock 17 and a 34? Specifically, a competition holster like a Blade Tech or Comp-tac. It seems like a holster for a 34 should fit a 17, with a little extra length left over, but I'd like to hear from someone with first-hand knowledge. Thanks.
  14. If you haven't jumped on Eric's group order (thanks, Eric, for setting it up!) I see a promo code on my current MidwayUSA flier--looks like anyone can use it. Enter 16hazmat01 to waive the hazmat fee on any order of $150 or more of CCI primers. Midway seems to have just about all primers CCI makes in stock, and the large pistol primers are even on sale...$26.71/1000, $126.67/5000. Shipping isn't bad; I don't see better all-in pricing elsewhere.

  16. I suspect people have been discussing the prejudices of supreme court justices ever since the court was established.
  17. I used to work at FMC. I'm surprised I didn't think of this...
  18. KMMU didn't reopen the tie down area until 4 pm yesterday, and it was a complete skating rink then. By the time we had the club's planes dug out, everyone was too tired to think about flying.
  19. That trick works great. Best to get weight off of the flat, then tie a rope or flat webbing around the center of the tread, poke a stick or big screwdriver under the rope, and start twisting until you've compressed the center of the tire enough that the bead is re-seated.
  20. The features seem well thought-out...but that is remarkably ugly for a Kimber.
  21. IV, V, VI, and pretend I, II, and III never happened.
  22. The reply from BATFE was "get off this page". It's visible in the link provided.
  23. I'm not sure we can get a Republican into the Democratic primary. :-)
