  1. It got some national coverage here: http://doonesbury.washingtonpost.com/strip/archive/2015/6/14
  2. I'll be there. It was a lot of fun last year. The interesting thing was, as dumb as gangsta style (match 17) is as a shooting style, it proved to be much, much more accurate than the FBI crouch shot as the first stage of every other event!
  3. Um...insurance companies lose money when they pay for prescriptions. You've got them on the wrong side of the conspiracy theory.
  4. The little guy ran through our yard (in Boonton) this morning, with the local cops in pursuit; using some kind of noisemakers to move him to somewhere less residential, and more wooded, which is to say to our property.
  5. You can walk around Independence Square, Penn's Landing, Elfreths Alley at night and they are still interesting. I've not been there in a number of years, so I don't know if it's still a safe area after dark.
  6. You know the doctors get kick-backs for prescribing these pills? So I don't think he needs them, the doctors just said, 'here this is a prescription for whatever and take this.' Not so much; since 2013, anything over $10 to the doctor is reported, and there aren't a whole lot of antidepressants, long generic, that aren't available at Walmart for $4/month. There is not enough money in that part of the system to justify much effort to bend the rules. I'd imagine there will be some hoops to jump through for your friend to get a permit, but I don't know what they are. It's entirely possible that he shouldn't be in this position, but once a person has a psych ward commitment in their past, there should be a few hoops to jump through.
  7. It'll only last maybe 50-75 years or more if not vacuum sealed, so if you think that's not long enough, I guess you could go to the extra time and trouble to vacuum pack. It doesn't matter if there is air/oxygen in the case or not...that's not what the gunpowder is using for an oxidizer.
  8. I've heard Montville is quite good. Boonton not so much, not awful, but 30-60 days; it's hard to get a hold of the one detective responsible for the permits.
  9. A sunset is a beautiful thing, assuming you are far away from ugly buildings and the din of traffic.
  10. I'm just paranoid enough to suggest that Glockamole not answer that in a public forum...
  11. Fortunately, taking them from the apartment to the range is legal. As is taking them from the range to the house. Just sayin'... Much easier than taking them to the range in PA. And then stopping off at a Pennsylvania post office before returning home.
  12. Somebody isn't getting a Christmas bonus this year...
  13. Six months ago the top end was a $299,000 Perazzii set with barrels in 4 gauges. What impressed me most was that guns up to $99,000 were out in racks on the showroom floor for anyone to pick up and handle. only what they considered the 'expensive' guns were in cabinets; you had to ask to see those. No one asked to see an FID, either!
  14. While I recognize the trend to put a rail on everything, including the family poodle, I think it would just look wrong on a Mauser. I think Usnmars is setting you on the right track.
  15. Assuming you used to live with your Dad in PA at some point in your life, are you sure he didn't give them to you then? I mean, maybe they are already yours...
  16. Burn rate is even slower than Hodgdon 50 BMG. Also doesn't meter worth a damn.
  17. They're out there: http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=find+full+service+gas+stations+in+pennsylvania Siri does a good job of finding them, too. My wife probably drives more miles out of state than in state, and in the finest Jersey Girl Tradition, has never failed to find full service regardless of the state. Me--I don't look for it. Self serve will always be significantly cheaper and faster. I only use full service when I'm forced to, by a nanny state that doesn't believe consumers deserve a choice and that most of its citizens can't be trusted with something as dangerous as a gas nozzle.
  18. SNL did a great sketch Saturday night. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sa19EQUJvCo
  19. It's a jobs program, nothing more. It certainly has nothing to do with 'safety', and I don't buy the arguments that eliminating the law would mean the end of full serve, while not saving us money at the pump. 48 other states allow self serve; it's always significantly cheaper, and there is always an abundance of full serve pumps around, if you want that option. There is no magical economic force that would cause the situation to be different in NJ. What really cracks me up about the ban on self serve is that it doesn't apply to aircraft. The state tries to claim with a straight face that fueling a vehicle is far too complex for the average citizen to master, but every small airport has a self serve pump so we weekend pilots can fill the wings with 100 octane LEADED AV gas!
  20. Wow. Under the proposed folly, buying two bricks of 22 gets your name sent to the US Attorney General!
  21. Are these steel insert, drop free mags, like OEM Glock? If so...NICE!
  22. I believe that was a Collings Foundation event. They move around from year to year; this year the NJ stops seem to be Wall Township and Cape May. http://www.collingsfoundation.org/events/category/wings-of-freedom-tour/list/?action=tribe_list&tribe_paged=5&tribe_event_display=list
