How much do you want to get out of it? I'd be interested, as would several of the other vultures swirling around.

If Brick Armory had run a deal like that, perhaps the sign from the State wouldn't be in the front window...

Maybe we all pitch-in a few bucks and take over the place!

A friend of mine back in the early/mid 80's bought one new...and let me try it. Pythons were ALWAYS expensive...but worth every penny. I just wish I had the money when they weren't obscenely expensive.

Probably your best bet - just change stocks as she gets older (which won't take too long-the length of pull on the "stock" carbine is pretty short & kid-friendly. And she'll be shooting it a long time. I know my son really liked my 10/22 (enough to think it's his.......)

I wonder if this .410 barrel (from the NJ hunter Forum) will fit also. Would make for an interesting combo http://www.newjerseyhunter.com/forums/82-classifieds-free/171049-sale-410-rossi-barrel.html

Agree - the scrap value (by weight) for an SUV is about $300.

I had an M-1 carbine pre-NJ ban. Back then a pile of em had been re-imported to the US from Korea by the "Blue Sky" import co, and you could buy one in the $150-$175 range. 15 round WW II surplus magazines were $2-3 still in the wrapper! They are fun to shoot - but the .30 carbine round is not particularly powerful, and the intrinsic accuracy of the platform simply is not there. The S&W M&P 15 Sport "NJ Special" I picked-up several months ago is a much, much better firearm than the carbine could ever hope to be, and considering inflation over the last 25 years, probably a better deal.

Watching the video, I think she is a bit too young for the rifle. At 6:50 or so, her hands are all over the rifle, and at 6:54 she looks to be pulling her hand up the rifle using her index finger on the trigger guard. Not too concerning, because Dad has full control of the rifle, and daughter is heeding & obeying instruction. Another year and she'll be ready.

Tough call....the web site below seems to put the price around where you describe http://www.gunvaluesboard.com/i-just-inherited-a-sw-38-special-model-14-2-serial-is-k-...-12825739.html Did it have the the 'diamond pattern' on the grips?
-
Also had $25 off on rifles/shotguns under $299, more off on the higher-priced.

What did you take to the range most recently?

Hmmm....its been a couple of weeks ago (been a BUSY summer so far) but if I remember right, I brought four: Mosin Nagant 91/30 S&W M&P 15 Sport Colt Peacekeeper Springfield 1911A1 -
NOT....anymore...

It's a tempting offer. It's only a few dollars more than i can reload them myself...

I'll be doing similarly...staying with family in Meriden and driving up to Hartford.
-
Gone up there many times....USUALLY the easiest (for us) is the parkway to 87 - Tappan Zee bridge, to 287, to 15 - Meritt Parkway, which eventually connects with 91, that will take you into Hartford.
-
Congrats on doing well...I've been to Lake Compounce several times with the kids. Nice place to go.

Cool! So will I!

A sequentially-issued callsign/license is free (they're currently in the KD2*** range), unless you want to apply for a "vanity" call (like W2MC), then its about $20 for 10 years. If you test with a site allied with the Laurel MD Volunteer Exam Coordinators (VEC), the test is free, too (otherwise, its $15). My club is aligned with Laurel VEC, and offers testing every second Wednesday in West Berlin, NJ http://www.k2aa.info/basic-page/amateur-radio-license-exams Jon W2MC

Gunbroker prices tend high, so they tell me. It seems to me that revolvers have retreated and become more of a niche market...semi-autos are in greater demand, and if memory serves the M19-3 is the last of the pinned/recessed M19's.
