  1. Simon Peters in Andover NJ had exploding targets a few months ago.
  2. I have a 98 rancher that is still going strong. You can't kill a Honda.
  3. I am very disappointed but I can't make it. The wife and I went over all the stuff we need to get done before Christmas and there is just too much stuff. Thanks to everyone who offered to let me use their shotguns. I hope to make the next one. I should have my own by then I hope.
  4. Thanks guys. 12 gauge or 20 gauge? Clays for sure. OG thanks for the Sarco info.
  5. I have a NY permit and state ID card. NY considers me a resident even if I don't live there full time.
  6. I highly recommend you take the intro class the day before. I took it and it was worth the $40. I never watched a match and managed to finish in the middle of the pack my first time out. I will be there on 12/21.
  7. I won't have a shotgun by 12/14. I may just stop down to hang for a while and head over to Sarco if they're open.
  8. Glad your OK. I did that once and broke the wooden step. I hurt for a few weeks.
  9. Nice find, congratulations.
  10. Well the trip was fun but not as fruitful as I hoped. The Gander Mtn in Scranton is small compared to the other 2 I've been in. On the return trip I stopped at Heberling's Sports Shop, 60 River Rd, Prompton, PA 18456. An old school shop sort of like an antique store for firearms. Dusty and cluttered but had great prices on some used stuff just not what I was looking for. Northeast Firearms in Honesdale offered to order what I was looking for and gave a pretty fair price but I declined due to the long trip back to pick it up. Hemlock Gun Shop in Lakeville is closed on Mondays. Bummer. Dunks didn't have what I was looking for either. The day was not a total loss though. I picked up my PA non-resident license to carry.
  11. It should have been a much better game but LA played like crap and yet they still won.
  12. For $59.96 you do not get Fort Knox. Almost any safe can be breached with the right tools and time. The more you spend will just increase the difficulty breaking into it.
  13. I know there are not very many soccer fans on the boards but I wanted to let you know about this. Today was the MLS (US first division) league championship match and as with most american sports during the National Anthem there was a fly over by US military planes. Today's was a little different. Six or seven planes from WW2 were the fly over planes. It was a very nice tribute to the greatest generation. I can't identify the planes but I'm sure it is on Youtube for you serious aviation buffs.
  14. Thanks for the tips. I live 1/2 a mile from 80 so anything of of 78 will have to wait for a separate trip. Maybe I'll combine a trip to Weyerbacher with a visit to Sarco even if it's "not much of a destination" as one poster said. I will try to find the mystery shop in the shopping centre off 81 north.
  15. When i started 22 years ago at my company we had a private pension, a 401k match, free health care, employee access to the fleet gas pumps ( cheaper than a the gas station), company paid parties and performance reviews and raises every year. Owner retired and left it to his kids. Now all of that is gone. It's either greed or gross mismanagement. Since the doors are still open i'll go with greed. I also owned my own title search company in the late 80's. My two employee's were well compensated until the S&L failures of 87-88. That put most of my clients out of business and me along with them. I've already had the pair and do not wish to grow another one. I look at my current job as a prison sentence that I have 9 years left to serve then I shall be released.
  16. Tried this stuff once. It was interesting and I agree with your wife's description. Overall I was not a fan but can see how some people would like it.
  17. This guy sound like a future NJ state senator.
  18. Next week I have to make a trek out to Scranton. Can anyone give me a few tips for a few shops that are along the 80-380 route? I know about Dunkelberger's but would like to check out any other place that is no more than 10 miles off of either highway between the NJ state line and Scranton. I would really like to check out a shop that has a lot of pre-owned inventory. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. It has nothing to do with costs and everything to do with corporate greed. Management would replace anyone to increase profits. That's the only thing that any corporation cares about. At one time corporations used to consider their employees a valuable asset but now they are nothing but a commodity to be used up and discarded and replaced with a cheaper model.
  20. I ordered on 11/11 and received my order today. Guess I got lucky and didn't get delayed.
  21. I highly recommend the Midnight Moon strawberry. The berries are horrible but the booze is great. I've tried the other Midnight Moon flavors and they are OK but my fav is the strawberry.
  22. It looks like the illegitimate offspring of the Kimber pepper spray gun and a Beretta Nano. Not for me.
