  1. Does "reasonable deviation" apply to people with CCWs? The reason I ask is because I think SCOTUS may hear Justifiable Need and (fingers cross) may overturn that. Now, if that's the case, perhaps Sweeney is thinking that CCW in NJ is going to happen inevitably. I think they might try to get the 10 round mag thing in before that happens, or before people stop losing interest in gun-control.
  2. Wow. That's "good". I applied in Dec. 2012 and didn't receive my P2P until around Memorial Day 2013. ETA: In Clifton.
  3. I bought 9mm HP at Dick's in Paramus. The clerk told me my DL wasn't necessary when I pulled it out of my wallet.

I love my 92, but wow is that a sexy gun or what?
  5. I agree with this. Petitioning the town to change the law could affect someone who lives across town, has a proper backstop, and could have an acre buffer beyond that on all sides. I'm telling you, he is already breaking trespass laws. A lot of police do not know every nuance of every law. Just because shooting arrows is not specified in your town's laws does not mean people can fire onto your property. I'm not trying to agree with your neighbor, don't get me wrong. I would be furious in your situation.
  6. Captain, That's repulsive. It just goes to show America today. It's essentially "your" fault that his kid is firing arrows into your yard. I yelled at the kid next door for kicking a soccer ball into our fence. I can't imagine what I'd do in your situation.
  7. Captain, Even if discharge laws don't fall into this category, trespass law does. It's not legal for him to shoot into your back yard without your consent. Period.
  8. You should contact their customer support if you still have them. They guarantee their products for life.
  9. lol Dude that "amazing" that it took 38 and 21 days respectively. Hell, I had to wait almost 7 months for mine in Clifton. I just think it's kind of sad, compared with 45 other states, that getting your 2A rights within a month is "great". Not trying to smack talk you, I'm just frustrated with NJ.
  10. I really like SOG knives, and it kind of bums me out that not many people I know, know about SOG. This is an awesome video that's all about SOG and its history. Website: http://www.sogknives.com/ Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vrqlnunzoc
  11. There are people in the area that do only own land. My buddy's family bought 17 acres in the 70s for something to the tune of 20k. This includes a large open field, a pond, woods, and a stream. They built the house themselves and the barn later on. Apparently the building restrictions are lax over there (compared with NJ). I'd do it if I were you. If you hunt, you can set up perches for deer season, or set up a range on your land if you want. There's plenty of properties like this available in Wayne County (90 minute or so drive), so if you're mulling the idea, I'd pull the trigger.
  12. Wow, no kidding.. I got back, and boy was that fun. It really is nice to be in an area where you're not looked at like some kind of nut. I was kind of nervous going up there, since well...I've never done that before and we live in a state where I'd be a felon (probably) for doing so. I need to get the hell out of NJ. I can vote all I want for pro-gun legislators, but you can't change the culture. Side note: Open carrying in town was kind of cool too. EVERYONE does it.
  13. I'm sure the NRA or NJ2AS would advertise the hell of out this if it was expired.
  14. Okay, so here's my question since I can't find anything on the forums or via Google: My buddy's family owns a lot of property in Pennsylvania. There are no neighbors in a 500 yard radius. I would imagine it would be legal for us to bring our guns and go shooting on his property. It's not as if we would be shooting into an open field either. There will be a back stop since the way the property is, there is a giant incline there. I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with bringing guns into America and shooting "not at a range". He's currently checking with the local PD as to an ordinance, but we're also not sure if they bs the way SOME PDs (P2P issues) do here. Also, second question: How about bringing them off the property and shooting them into the woods (not his property)? Is that allowed? I know a lot of people here aren't lawyers, but if the consensus is NO, then I'll take that as a no. Thanks! EDIT: Damascus, Wayne County is where we'll be. Also, there are no ordinances against discharges listed on their website or with the county. The thing that worries me is that all of us are residents of NJ. None of us have any sort of hunting permits or PA licences (Open carry is still legal to us).
  15. New Jersey: Everything is illegal unless you have permission.
  16. I got the M9A1 in May. I've put almost 1,000 rounds through it, and not a single problem. I love it. I highly recommend it. Why not go to a local firing range and rent a couple of guns to try out?
  17. I'm throwing money at the screen and nothing is happening!!!
  18. I just saw this and I figured I'd share it here. Link: http://gunssavelives.net/gun-industry/breaking-springfield-issues-safety-recall-for-xds-9-and-xds-45-pistols/
  19. So are they saying pistols that have a threaded barrel and a barrel shroud get taxed, or can I just not get the shroud?
  20. activegrenade, I usually watch VDMA videos on Youtube. I think he does the most in-depth reviews on the internet. Needless to say he knows his shit. If you're looking at the Sigs, I don't think you can go wrong. Before you shell out all that dough, I think you should look at EVERYTHING you can. Here are some vids he put out that caught my eye. I'm personally looking at the FNX Tactical once I make the move to New Hamphire. Sig Sauer P220 Heckler & Koch HK45 Glock 21 FN FNX 45 FN FNX Tactical I also subscribe another channel, nutnfancy, here's some of his takes on the Sig P227. Sig Sauer P227
  21. I would go with the full sized Px4 Storm. However, she should definitely handle both of them. Also, look into the Springfield XDm if you're also looking at the Glock 19. Personally, I like the XD over the Glock. Gun For Hire rents out firearms at their range (they carry all three of these) in Woodland Park and Ottomanell's gun store is right next door and they carry these three guns. Let us know what you end up going with.
  22. I can't wait until the numbers come out concerning fids, p2p, and ccw. Does anyone know if the NRA or NJ2AS is working on that?
  23. I was there around a week ago. I had walked in with a buddy of mine (who I've introduced to guns and converted him...he is currently going through the arduous process of getting an FID) to see if they had an hollow points in 9mm. Unfortunately they didn't, but I really didn't expect them too either. I didn't get his name, but there was an older gentleman behind the counter and he was very helpful and very kind. He was talking about, and showed my friend some of the knives behind the counter as I perused their wares (I'm thinking about getting a new handgun). Needless to say, I had a good experience. We also talked about some of the laws (answers I knew, but just curious as to what he'd say) and he was knew what he was talking about. ON THE OTHER HAND In fairness to others, I understand what others on this thread have said about the "kids" that work there. I have gone in, and witnessed them being condenscending to myself or people who aren't generally "knowledgable" as they are. I would recommend calling and telling the owner/manager about this, and I guarantee you it will change.
