  1. If you pay another $50 for a guest pass in addition to your membership, you can bring up to 3 guests at a time. You can only use 1 shooting position and only 1 person shooting at a time.
  2. Get a hunting license and then you can use a WMA practice range for the year.
  3. For those that think standing guard is a BS assignment, try standing completely still for 20 minutes. Seriously, completely still. Without shuffling your feet. The guards switch posts every 20 minutes for a reason. The blood in your legs relies on a pump in the sole of your foot to pump the blood back up your leg to recirculate. Stand completely still for too long and you will fall down. Add the uniform and rifle, you will fall sooner. These guys are not messing around.
  4. Totally fake. They didn't even bother to get a full uniform. I bet they got it at a cheap costume rental.
  5. It says overall length 25.8". This is needs an NFA tax stamp for an AOW. It is not a non-NFA other firearm as they have to be 26" OAL.
  6. Whether you're running a dot or a LPVO, if you have only zeroed it at 50 yards you only have a 50 yard zero. There may be a crossover at approximately 300 yards but until you have verified it you do not have a 300 yard zero.
  7. Typically the heavier, slower bullet will give the softest felt recoil impulse. This usually makes it easier to get back on your sights for the next shot.
  8. You picked up my shotgun that was hot because someone else made it hot by shooting it! How is that my fault? Just quit complaining, will ya? I even offered you beer and burgers after.

    Glock 34

The longer sight radius is the selling point for me for the G34 over the G17. The 1lb difference in trigger weight isn't a big deal. Getting it smooth is more important. You can do a polishing job to speed things up but I prefer the old fashioned way - just shoot the snot out of it. My G35 has over 17k rounds through it and the trigger is about as good as a Glock trigger is going to get without sacrificing safety and reliability. My preference is to not go lighter than the minus connector that comes with the G34/G35. The lighter you go the more spongey the trigger tends to feel instead of having a definite wall before the break. Many trigger kits for Glocks include a lighter striker spring (which fails to set off some rounds with poorly seated primers or hard primers) and a lighter striker block spring (if the striker block doesn't reset properly your gun is no longer drop safe). The extended slide stop is a problem for some people as their grip falls on the lever. They can change their grip (which is not necessarily easy for certain sized hands) or switch to the regular slide stop.
  10. I started my son with an SR22. It's an OK gun but not easy to learn on. It is very short so has a short sight radius. The trigger isn't the worst I have felt, and it improved with deleting the magazine disconnect safety, but it's not great. I'm not a fan of decocker safetys either. I just got a Taurus TX22 for him and it is much better. It is about the same size as a Glock 19 but with a much less blocky grip. The sight radius is what you'd expect although they are plastic and there does not seem to be many aftermarket options yet. The trigger take-up is a little rough, but there is a nice wall and a clean break at about 4.5-5lb. The reset is decent too. It is striker fired rather than hammer. My son's shooting improved greatly with the bigger gun. It's good value in my opinion.
  11. Clinton WMA is for rifle and shotgun only. Handguns are not allowed there.
  12. Did you check the oil channel? They get clogged with sawdust on every brand I have seen. It should be part of your maintenance cycle to clean that muck out of there.
  13. Count me in. I have a thrower and a box of clays. Not sure how many are still ok since I bought them before my house move. I'll bring a 12 guage and a 20 guage youth gun. Not sure how many shells I have for the 20g.
  14. Sorry about the brass down your neck - I was trying to help you to train to fight through despite the distraction - lol. At about 1:30, far enough forward not to snag the pistol draw, I have a multitool in an HSGI pistol mag pouch. My pistol holster is on a drop leg at 3 o'clock - Safariland Drop flex adapter with a single strap leg shroud. That carries a QLS plate so I can swap holsters easily. At 4:30 is a TQ pouch which also holds a set of surgical shears and a resuscitation mask. Directly behind that is my IFAK. Both are reachable with either hand - to get the IFAK with my left hand I need to reach behind me. The TQ & shears I can reach from front or rear with either hand. At 7 o'clock is a dump pouch. There is a double AR mag pouch at about 8 o'clock - again HSGI. If was to fix anything it would be to swap these out for a more rigid design. Getting the mags into them has become more difficult as they wear in and lose stiffness. Between 9 and 10 o'clock I have 2 single HSGI pistol mag pouches for pistol mags. I have space for 6 more AR mags and 1 pistol mag on my plate carrier. I have been advised not to carry anything at 6 o'clock. SoB holsters aren't a great idea either, as an aside.
  15. If you own all the components to make a magazine greater than 10 rounds it is a felony, even if it is disassembled. The spring on it's own without the other parts is not regulated.
  16. I run a distance lens for my left eye and a close lens for my right when shooting irons. I also have another insert for my Aimcam glasses that has 2 distance lenses for when I'm running a red dot. The second set make running a scoring tablet a wee bit of a challenge.
  17. There is no reason the gun cannot be shipped from CGW directly back to the owner. It does not need to be shipped back to an FFL.
  18. They are giving you bad advice. You must declare it a firearm when you drop it with UPS or FEDEX. There cannot be any indication on the outside of the package that it is a firearm, but declare it, you must. Also, you have to drop it at a real UPS or FEDEX location. The UPS desk at Staples or your local Kinko is not allowed to accept it.
  19. Define easy access? Lol. These are NJ statutes. There is no definition provided. Anything I make up is worthless. I was responding to 124gr9mm's comment.
  20. The law is that you cannot allow a kid (under 18) easy access to a loaded firearm. If securing the firearms is tricky, securing the ammo instead is an option.
  21. I would have, but you didn't being any. Great day, beautiful weather and I learned a few things about running a carbine. Let's get a shotgun shoot going soon. @Krdshrk, what do you think? Beers and a cook out at my place after. I'm only 15 minutes from Clinton WMA.
  22. As I read the statutes you cannot just ride around with a non-NFA firearm - ironically because of the gap in the laws that enable non-NFA firearms to exist in the legal sense. 2C:39-5.b. Handguns. (1) Any person who knowingly has in his possession any handgun, including any antique handgun, without first having obtained a permit to carry the same as provided in N.J.S.2C:58-4, is guilty of a crime of the second degree... 2C:39-5.c. Rifles and shotguns. (1) Any person who knowingly has in his possession any rifle or shotgun without having first obtained a firearms purchaser identification card in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.2C:58-3, is guilty of a crime of the third degree. As an non-NFA is neither a handgun nor a rifle the above does not apply. Therefore, you're now stuck with 2C:39-5.d. Other weapons. Any person who knowingly has in his possession any other weapon under circumstances not manifestly appropriate for such lawful uses as it may have is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree. Sadly NJ does not recognize self defense as a lawful use so I think you're SOL with a non-NFA firearm. Even with an FPIC, you can't be in possession outside the exemptions for to/from the range, FFL, home, etc. PS. IANAL and did not sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
  23. @High Exposure Are you still coming? The weather forecast does not include rain.
