  1. I'll not be disrespectful to HE. He out shot me handily today. I'm sure it would have been closer if I didn't repeatedly drop my mags on the ground in the middle of an exercise.
  2. And the rain was indeed warm. Good to meet you today. Looking forward to meeting up with the rest of you on the 6th.
  3. Don't run it in that state any more than you really have to. Unburnt gas will be making it's way down the exhaust and will mess up the cat.
  4. If you want big try the Glock 41 - someone some of us know who has particularly small hands described it as "8 inches of awesomeness, but it just doesn't fit in my hand!" before selling it on. Note, all the double stack .45 Glocks have the same grip circumference and trigger reach - that's how the longer mags work in the shorter guns. I find them too big and blocky to shoot well.
  5. You have to be careful with an extra long receiver extension - with the brace fully extended the LoP cannot be more than 13.5" or the ATF deems it to be a stock, not a brace. With something like an SBA3 you can only go about 3/4" over a standard carbine receiver extension and still be able to use all the brace adjustment positions.
  6. In my opinion you'd be fine then, but I am not a lawyer nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. I would ask you this, if you're worried about the future legality of a Non-NFA and are OK with turning it into a rifle, why not just build a rifle to start with?
  7. No, you can't. With a brace instead of a stock you would be making it into a pistol. If you put on an upper without a vertical forward grip it stops being a Non-NFA. Without a stock it is not a rifle. You would have a pistol that weighs waaaay more than 50oz and that is banned in NJ.
  8. I'm in for the pistol class on Saturday. I guess I'll finally get to meet you @High Exposure
  9. I just booked in for the carbine class - It's about time I learned to run it properly. See you guys there. I'm on standby for the pistol class this Saturday too. ETA: I just looked it up and it's just down the road from EFGA, right? That's only 45 minutes from my house!
  10. What do they charge? I can't see any pricing on their web site.
  11. 1-8x provides for a wider range of magnification than 1-4x, and includes all that 1-4x offers in terms of magnification. More is better, right? However, I can only assume that it comes with a cost in some other aspect of the scope. I would like to understand what that might be. I picked the Strike Eagle because it also retails at $399.
  12. What's the advantage of the 1-4 accupower vs. something apparently better like the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 which goes for the same money?
  13. Maybe because what a State puts in its constitution is none of the Federal government's business so long as it does not contradict Federal law. The 2nd Amendment is applicable to all the States through the 14th Amendment so no mention of anything similar in the State constitution is irrelevant.
  14. I don't think they see it as a problem. We all have a right to free speech, but not necessarily without consequence. I would wager these guys knew the likely consequences when they published their videos. I have to wonder if their bosses understand the consequences of showing which side their loyalties lay. How many rank and file still on the force have made a judgement based on the boss's reactions to these honest officers?
  15. DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT use Mid Atlantic Waterproofing.
  16. I'm not sure where you heard ranges are classed as essential - all ranges in NJ are currently closed as per the Governor's EO. Yes, the State limit on mags is 10 rounds. Mere possession of a 28 round mag is a felony in NJ if it fits a semi-auto firearm. Do not even bring them here. JHP is OK to possess in your home and at the range and on a trip directly between those locations. Do not leave it in you car for any other trips. If it is a semi-auto pistol your wife cannot possess 12 round mags - its a felony here.
  17. He's still there. The gun store is now the beige building on the right hand side. He has a showcase and everything! I'm not sure if he's been opening during the current goings-on.
  18. Call Jim Flynn in Glen Gardner - he has very good prices and isn't far from you.
  19. This is very confusing to me. If a law is facially contrary to the Constitution that is what it is from the moment it is signed into law. When a court finds a law to be unconstitutional the people who have been pretending it is valid are finally forced to face the truth, but the law was unconstitutional all along. Any prior convictions under an unconstitutional law have to be nullified because the law used to convict was no law at all. For a law to be constitutional until it is reviewed by a court is crazy! For this to work, every single law would have to be reviewed and there is just not enough court time to do that. All public officials swear an oath to uphold the Constitution. If they make a mistake - OK fine, a court reviews and everybody learns from it. To decide not to even consider the Constitution is dereliction of that oath - for all officials at every level.
  20. The big question is was there any waving as they went past? The Governor may need to have words...
  21. This can be an issue when the Police come calling to confiscate your guns, whether that's because of a ERPO or a TRO - a TRO is commonly used by soon to be ex-wives through no fault of your own to gain advantage in divorce negotiations. When the State Troopers came to my house with a TRO from my ex, it listed every handgun I had purchased in NJ - the PtPP is a "form of register" after all. If there's a gun on that list that they can't account for they will turn your house upside-down looking for it. Fortunately, I knew my ex would pull something like this so I had the paperwork handy to prove I had transferred everything to Gunsitters. The Police thanked me and left with just my FPIC without having to do a search. They also asked if I would be so kind to run down to the barracks in the morning so they could get a photocopy of the receipt I showed them.
  22. Nowhere in NJ law does it say cases in the passenger compartment need to be locked. They only need to be fastened.
