  1. I too like the position of the safety on mossbergs, it seems more natural. Agreed. The safety, action release and loading gate are what push me towards Mossberg. Honestly, i dont see myself doing much, if any clay shooting. It would be nice to possibly down the road have the option to change out an 18 or 20" barrel for something longer, but its not necesary as i would eventually like to get a coach gun and also an over-under. This would primarily be a HD gun and range toy. That is beautiful Thanks to all who have responded so far!

    Sweet buy. PICS ASAP!
  3. Well guys, im jonesing to buy a home defense shotgun(not sure why, but i feel like i must buy one lol). Ive played with rem 870's and mossy 500's, to which i have likes and dislikes with both. I wont get into all the details about my likes and dislikes or nit-picking one over the because i over-analyze everything and im indecisive. So im looking to you folks for some help, likes, dislikes, pro's, cons, etc...on the models listed or any suggestions. This is going to be long-winded, so stick it out! The only shotgun i havent had the opportunity or luxury of playing with is a benelli (nova or supernova). Which many have said to be a fantastically awesome weapon. The only problem i have with benelli's is the low-round count. Understandably, a mag tube extension can be put on for an extra $50-$80, but who wouldnt want to put that to a more exciting upgrade? I've taken into account shorter pistol-grip shotguns (which i've never owned or regularly shot) like the cruiser models for mobility. Through general common sense and hours of reading, most people mention painfully felt recoil and lack of accuracy, but good agility or movement in CQ. I cant imagine recoil would be all that terrible, and its not like anyone would spend hours at a range blowing through hundreds of rounds of 12g 00 buck with a pistol-grip shotgun. This would be taken to the range of course, but primarily a HD weapon. My next concern is weight and length. Im having a tough time making or justifying my decision between 5, 6, or 8+ rounds for HD. Many indicate that anything over 8 rounds is muzzle-heavy, has an awkward muzzle swing, and it just unnecessary. But when are MORE rounds a bad thing!? Length im not very concerned with, but of course no more than 20" Last, OPTIONS..... I am interested in something that i may be able to throw a longer barrel on and possibly shoot clays with. This is not something totally necessary but would be a plus. Being the guy i am, i cant leave well enough alone. So UPGRADES are bound to happen(lights, side saddles, slings, etc...). So a shotgun like a remington or mossy would probably prevail as there are plenty of aftermarket items available. Within what im looking for, and willing to spend i feel like my options are as follows; Remington 870 Express 590 Special Purpose 9-Shot - 50645 500 Persuader, 8-Shot - 50577 500 Persuader, 6-Shot - 50411 500 Cruiser, 6-Shot - 54125 500 Cruiser, 8-Shot - 50580 Benelli Nova Tactical - 20050 Benelli SuperNova Tactical - 20145 / 20150 / 20155

  6. Me and my woman were looking to move down to NC last year when a job opportunity came up for her and we both just couldnt up and leave, and i wish we did. For us, its taking the plunge that holds us back. I would personally go anywhere south of Virginia.
  7. I agree with most of the comments here. I have some stack-on products and I would consider it a "locker" at best. I bought a smaller one to store a couple pistols in, but realized that it is very lightweight. A decently strong clawed hammer or a pry bar would make quick work of these units. Hell, you could probably even just beat the snot out of one to open it. The stack-on products i have basically just store ammo and magazines now. I wouldnt trust my life to it by any means, but if your simply getting it to keep kiddies out of it, then it should work just fine. If you actually want it as a "safe", id spend a little more.
  8. So...I've read the entire thread...someone point me in the right direction! I'm definitely trying to get into this and I know damn well its easier than setting up my hookah every other night. I dont want to waste money on a shit setup. Id rather just bite the bullet and get something of quality. It could also possibly help me quit smoking!
  9. Do yourself a favor and get that squared away pronto...years ago I was robbed and they took almost everything of value, down to dvd's...the renter's insurance from geico fucked me hard because the only time they asked for an itemized list of what we owned was after the burglary. Ultimately I was the one who lost out, and I was cut a miniscule check for compensation...
  10. For those of you who have different insurances (home owners, renters, dwellers, etc...) whatever it may be, do you insure your or your significant other's jewelry and valuables against theft, fire, water, damages, loss, miscellaneous disappearances, etc? Do you have a separate insurance plan or policy to cover valuables like that or do you incorporate them into your current policies? I am contemplating getting a separate insurance policy specifically for our valuables, but not sure if its worth it or if im just being overly cautious. If you do use a separate policy or coverage for valuables, what or whom do you use? Thanks in advance! - Mike On a side note, can one also insure their guns on a similar policy that would cover against theft, fire, water, damages, loss, etc... ? Anyone do that? Of course, you would then have to disclose what you currently own...which i know most are not privy to.
  11. Fuck Dicks....the name of the store shouldnt reflect the attitudes of the people inside!
  12. I love my g19 and would trust my life to it, but i WILL be getting a VP9 as well.
  13. My puggle loves the snow! The day we brought him home it was snowing, so sometimes i think that plays a role in it! Probably nonsense though lol. His beagle-ness far out weighs his pug-ness...face in the snow sniffing...
  14. Ill be purchasing some soon. Good pricing and im willing to give their 9mm a shot
  15. If you dont have huge hands, the G19 is the way to go. I could not be happier with my G4 G19. It rocks.
  16. Probably got paid for the whole day too...fuckin hacks.
