  1. Ya did good, Joe! She looks like a sweetheart. May God bless you, your family, and Allie with many happy years together.
  2. Wish I could see the pics but they're not up anymore. Care to repost?
  3. We found our latest rescue on PetFinder.com from Catitude in Highland Park. There's a bunch of rescue organizations in central NJ. Another great place is Popcorn Zoo down in Forked River. I'd never buy from a breeder, but that's my thing. There's enough dogs in shelters to go around. Good luck in the hunt. A dog will find you....I mean you'll find a dog.
  4. Jim, I wonder if you were the guy I was talking to a few people behind me at HG a few Black Fridays ago. The guy was buying that GPS pack and I told him I loved mine. Turns out we both belonged to LI range, too. Ha! Man, that line was crazy long. I was thinking of going back this Black Friday for a few things I've been eyeballing but this time I'm bringing a lunch!
  5. Love my G.P.S. Handgunner Backpack. Got mine from Amazon and it handles all my crap with room to spare.
  6. I thought I needed a real gonzo knife...like a Strider, for EDC. I will, and do, use my knife for anything that I think it will complete or assist completing the task at hand. Then for the helluvit I started carrying lighter knives. Once I got a Boker Trance and found it could do everything I asked of it it's been my EDC ever since...since whenever Boker released it. Even camping I've never needed to baton anything so it's held up fine camping to. Skinning a deer, it's worked though even though there are task-specific knives for that job. Same Trance for years now. Still locks up solid and holds a helluva edge. I wish Chad or Boker would do a version with better steel than the AUS8. I'd scoop two or more up without thinking twice. To me, that's how you know it's a knife or tool for me.
  7. MLoc for me. Checked out both for my first build and the MLock design appeared to me as the stronger of the two. So far, so good.
  8. I've bought from them many times and never had a problem. Shipped fast, too.
  9. Lake Island Rifle and Pistol Club in Carteret. It's indoors, 25yards only and you must pass a shooting/handling "test" to get in. .22LR rifle only, but most handgun calibers accepted, no magnums.
  10. This is why I bought a 94 Suburban...which I love. Here's the million dollar question though.... what to do about the old inspection sticker? Leave it, take it off, write "N/A" on paper, remove old sticker and place it where the sticker used to be? I called local PD but they literally said, "Get it inspected anyway." Yeah, sure.
  11. Samsung made the best flat screens. I say "made" because of the news that came out a few days ago. Samsung will be using LG panels from now on. You can read about it here. So now it'll be interesting to see how they are with LG screens, which Samsung has disparaged over the years.
  12. I highly recommend "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson. I'm reading it again. I've had this book since its release and have reread it many times over the years. I will be reading Neal's latest, "Seveneves", right after Cryptonomicon.
  13. If you put a new gas cap on then clear the code and see if it comes back. Most likely it's the vent or purge valve or a hole in a vapor hose. Smoke the system if you can. Do you smell gas while in the car?
  14. If you've got a CEL on then you'll fail. If the CEL isn't on but you have a code that would pop the CEL then you'll likely fail.
  15. I doubt it's not primed since the OP says it'll run for 5mins. If there was air in the system it wouldn't run for that long, or even at all. The hissing sound is interesting. I'd like to hear what the stealership finds and, hopefully, fixes.
  16. Regarding the monitors' state of readiness, it's all about drive cycles. However the manufacturer declared it in the vehicle's computer is how long it'll take. Usually it's 2-3 drive cycles, and not always dependant upon miles driven.
  17. Only thing I bought from SA were hockey pucks. Just never liked their stores. Felt dirty.
  18. Jeez, my kid would be like "I just wanted to buy Mom some new dinnerware and they turned me into an evil thinking criminal without me doing anything." It's like an _implanting_ of bad thoughts into the minds of kids. Thinking everyone's a damn criminal. It's a guilty until proven innocent mentality.
  19. STI. Made in America in the great state of Texas. They also have excellent CS, but you pro'lly won't need it. One of the best 1911's or 2011's you can buy.
  20. Don't know if this is old news .... but I have it on concrete terms that Bass Pro will be opening a store in Sayreville....right next to the GSP. I must admit...I'm somewhat excited. Competition is a good thing so maybe Dicks will lower their prices a bit if BP's prices are better. You know that won't be for ammo though.
  21. I've had and have numerous folders from many differeent brands. My EDC rotates between a Cold Steel American Lawman, Boker Trance, Spyderco Endura, Strider (forget the model/name), and a Benchmade Rukus. Andrew Demko/Cold Steels's Triad lock is the best folding blade locking method IMO. Regarding Emerson...I'll never buy another. I won't bore with a long story... I bought a CQC-14, new. Within a few days I noticed the liner lock would disengage easily. No stupid batoning or using it as a hammer, etc. I contacted and sent it back to Emerson.... Week later I get it back with note saying lock was fixed. Well, same faulty lock exists. I contacted and sent it back to them again. Got it back a week later. Same problem. I asked them for a refund. Never got an answer. There's plenty of other brands with quality knives and great customer service.
  22. It has been known that STI's coatings aren't the best. I don't know if they've gotten better lately. Still, I've no rusting issues anywhere. I was using Mil-Comm TW25B on all my guns but have switched to Slip 2000 EWL. I think if you take care to protect your guns with a light coating of whatever you like you'll be fine.
  23. I can't attest to other 1911's but when I was at the range a few months ago shooting my STI Lawman there was a well known competition range member also there. He was shooting his 1911 but I honestly don't recall the brand. He saw my Lawman and asked if he could try it. I agreed and he fired about 4 shots. He checked fit and finish and said to me, "That's one of the best 1911's I've ever handled". It was then and still is completely stock as I got it from STI. All I know is I really like my STI Lawman.
  24. I got mine within 2 days. Pretty dang fast. I went with plastic and it seems well made.
  25. I love my Chevy Silverado. Most companies aren't making mid-sized pickups these days. The Toyotas are nice. My buddy's had one for years and loves it. It's a nice truck with nice ammenities. I've both had and heard so many horror stories from friends about Ford pickups that I'll never buy another Ford anytime soon. I've had nothing but good luck with GMC and Chevys. See what you like and then research it as much as you can. Edmunds.com used to be a good place but don't know about these days. If you take care of whatever you get, and if it's not a bad engineered truck, then they all should last about the same anyway.
