Vendor(s) to avoid: Garrison Grips
YankeeSC replied to Grima Squeakersen's topic in General Discussion
I suspect the initial number from the widget is not Garrison Grips, and the real person on the other end is tired of getting these messages. -
I believe that's because MP4 is primarily a video format. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP4_file_format

List of NJ Businesses posting 'No Guns' signs
YankeeSC replied to 10X's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
His point may be that a surprising number of people of the Jewish faith vote democrat/liberal - they seem to have forgotten something that happened in 1940s Europe ... See also https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2021/05/11/u-s-jews-political-views/ -
Not at that price, and I would be more interested in something along the styling of a Colt SAA.

Too bad they weren't that effective against the Germans.

So my dad passed ... what to do with his stuff?
YankeeSC replied to YankeeSC's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for all the tips on selling through social media. I went through all that when we were getting rid of things before we moved to SC. -
So my dad passed ... what to do with his stuff?
YankeeSC replied to YankeeSC's topic in General Discussion
Thanks, that's kind of what I'm thinking. All of the power/table machines (saws, lathe, planer, etc) and hand tool sets have got to be worth something. Some of the trains and accessories I believe are from the 1940s and in excellent condition. I just have no idea what everything is worth. -
Aside from the usual household items (furniture, clothes, kitchen stuff, etc) that we will donate or trash, he had a few things that might be worth something, like serious carpentry/woodworking tools, old Lionel trains, and some large koi. Any suggestions on how to get the most for these things?

I was interesting to hear all of the conflicting info and facts that simply don't add up. Gives you a real sense of how much we're being lied to. One of the investigative reporters is a total liberal tool - tries to tie everything back to "the russians!"

Securing handgun when visiting places that do not allow HG inside?
YankeeSC replied to ESB's topic in Concealed Carry
IANAL, and AFAIK there are no laws or requirements around how a firearm is to be stored, which is what is effectively happening here. Further more, in a different thread, @High Exposure referenced avoiding unnecessary administrative handling of your firearm, to minimize risk. That said, it makes common sense that your approach should be: remove your handgun from your body, have it remain in the holster if possible, and lock the whole thing up "as is" in a secure safe in your vehicle. But then again we're dealing with NJ, and WTFRK? -
https://www.glockstore.com/FM-9-Compensator It's all about how the product is marketed by the manufacturer. Since this specific one says nothing about it being a "flash suppressor", I would feel safe about it. Don't get distracted by something called "the pinky test". It's meaningless.

I fear that's why you got the answer you were given - no commitment in their response unless you wanted to pay good money for it. -

NJ Handgun Carry Permit Application Experience
YankeeSC replied to CJack's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
There is, but for some reason it's not referenced in that document. IIRC you need to hit minimum 20/25 within the target, which was like a standard IPSC target body shape. UPDATE: well apparently not, I can't find any reference to a live fire requirement other than "the actual firing of the handgun in the presence of the instructor, provided that a minimum of twenty-five rounds must be fired;" https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t23c031.php I guess it's up to the instructor. Interesting. -
NJ Handgun Carry Permit Application Experience
YankeeSC replied to CJack's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
When I took it in 2018 at Palmetto State Armory in Summerville, I had to follow the course of fire below, which apparently is only "suggested" now: https://www.sled.sc.gov/forms/regulatory/CWP info 080621/CWP Instructor Lesson Plan (New Topics and Course of Fire) with NOTICE (08.06.21).pdf -

NJ Handgun Carry Permit Application Experience

It depends. Here is where a NJ resident with a PA non-resident permit can carry: https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/?resident=NJ&states[]=NJ&states[]=PA -
Welcome to the forum. I think you meant to post this over in https://www.njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/forum/74-competitive-amp-fun-shoot-discussion/. You do realize this is the New Jersey gun forums? Anyway, you ask a lot of great detailed questions. In my 3-gun experience, 6x or 8x is more than adequate. I don't think I've shot a match in NJ that was over 200 yards. As for pump shotgun, yes that will slow you down. I guess some chance, but I would say certainly don't expect to be near the top. You'll likely be near the bottom but probably not last. When I started out I looked at it more as competing against myself at first, looking to get better each match, versus trying to compete against the more experienced shooters. Have you shot any USPSA/IDPA type competition before? Simple advice to start is have a plan of attack for each stage, be deliberate and don't rush. Speed will come with experience.
