I remember when the gun shop had to use the phone to call NICS and you got to take the gun home right then.  Now it's all made faster because computers have immediate access to the database and we're excited about it only taking 24 hours.  Sometimes I buy a gun in PA now and walk out with the gun 10 minutes later.  NJ must be doing something wrong.

I don't mean to gloat, but I have posted how NICS checks in Florida take 5-10 minutes, or even less.  It appears that they respect the "I" for instant.  Having to return to a store to pick up a purchase a day or a few later can be a major, needless inconvenience.
