RIP, Jimmy. Thanks for all the memories and good times.

Yes I am a pirate, 200 years too late. The cannons don’t thunder, there’s nothing to plunder, I’m an over 40 victim of fate..

:( very sad about that, I suspect there will be quite a few tributes here in FL... RIP.

:fie:

He actively campaigned for Democrat Andrew Gillum against DeSantiis in Florida.

Hated Trump, loved Biden/Obama..

Also, hosted a celebrity fundraiser for Hillary Clinton at his home in the Hamptons.

Was also big on The Jab. But I can rise above all that and enjoy his music. I predict a big Margherita weekend.

They almost had a sex crazed crack addict...I can even  imagine what Florida would be like now if he got in.

I met Buffett in Key West in 82 in Sloppy Joe's on Duval St when i was working there. We bought one another beers. He thought  his career was over. #1 songs. Come Monday 1972 Margaritaville 1977.  He realized everyone was making money off Margaritaville.  Opened a tshirt shop near Sloppy Joe's.  That was the start of his empire.

Fast forward to 2016.  My casino host got me free tickets in the Vip section when he played on the beach in AC.

Ran into 2 Canadian women, true Parrotheads, walking down the Boardwalk we conversed.  They told me he was doing a benefit for Hillary on Long Island the next day.  Burst my bubble.  Always thought of him as a Libeteran.

But he never brought his politics to the stage. I respect that.

I also remember the guy who turned me on to Buffett. I was a major, he was a Captain in National Guard.

He died in Iraq..

Read his story here. A true leader. Leading from the front.

Over the years I’ve been to 3 Buffet concerts. Crazy fun!

On a side note, I had dinner with my family this evening, we all ordered margaritas, and raised them in honor of Jimmy.

Never agreed with his politics, but loved his music .
