BadBul 0 Posted August 9, 2009 Luckily that range is in Florida, if it were in Jersey the Insurance company would have raised there premium so high they would have to go out of business

nitrospaz9 10 Posted August 9, 2009 How the hell do you shoot yourself in the hand? If you have any type of jam my hand is never near the barrel. I drop the mag and pull the slide while aiming it down range just incase. Pretty sure he deserved what he had coming lol
coldsolderjoint 84 Posted August 9, 2009 This kind of stuff is why I wear body armor at ranges. wow, seriously? I've never liked going to public ranges after seeing all the bullet holes in Ray's stalls. I guess I'm blessed to be a member of Old Bridge, where it is essentially a private range. GaTz 0 Posted August 10, 2009 LOL..i'd definitley like to know the legality of walking around with body armor on.... I'm all for wearing it!!!..i just can't believe it would be legal
Caine 147 Posted August 10, 2009 My understanding is that they're illegal in the commission of a crime.. much like HP ammo in NJ. So, as long as you're not committing a crime (i.e. robbing the corner bodega) while wearing armor, there's no issues. But i'm not a lawyer
DirtyDigz 1,814 Posted August 10, 2009 Exactly Caine. You can wear it as long as you're not doing anything illegal. I'm trying to find the exact statute that governs it but haven't found it yet.
DirtyDigz 1,814 Posted August 10, 2009 Here we go: 2C:39-13. Unlawful use of body vests Unlawful use of body vests. A person is guilty of a crime if he uses or wears a body vest while engaged in the commission of, or an attempt to commit, or flight after committing or attempting to commit murder, manslaughter, robbery, sexual assault, burglary, kidnaping, criminal escape or assault under N.J.S.2C:12-1b. Use or wearing a body vest while engaged in the commission of, or an attempt to commit, or flight after committing or attempting to commit a crime of the first degree is a crime of the second degree. Otherwise it is a crime of the third degree. As used in this section, "body vest" means bullet-resistant body armor which is intended to provide ballistic and trauma protection. L.1983,c.152,s.1; amended 1999, c.306. Edit: And that's it. That's the only mention of wearing body armor by "civilians" in the NJ statutes.
