Malsua 1,422 Posted September 24, 2009 shipped that taurus overnight ti miami florida. 42.00 to ship it. did not expect that, figured it would be like 20 bucks.. Air shipping is pretty ridiculous any more. I ship stuff on occasion from Ebay sales and one box cost me $157 for 15lbs to a place in Illinios. I only charged $100. I figured at 100 I might make 20 extra...bbzzzzt. Now I just do a flat rate of $11 a pound + $20 for overnight shipping.
tj462nj 32 Posted September 24, 2009 Tony, how did you ship it. it is costly cause it has to arrive by 2nd day. you can go on UPS website and figure out pretty close to the cost depending on weight & zip code.
tony357 386 Posted September 24, 2009 I shipped it ups next day air, taurus said it had to be shipped next day.
tony357 386 Posted September 24, 2009 I guess if their is a warranty problem taurus picks up shipping back, i am just thinking what it must cost these firearm manufactures in shipping charges? I could just imagine what a yearly graph would look like for their corprate expenses. That remotely reflects our gun purchase prices..

tony357 386 Posted September 24, 2009 they also told me to make sure it was unloaded, otherwise they have to notify ATF.
tj462nj 32 Posted September 24, 2009 the atf says 2nd air on handguns, definelty unloaded, can not even ship ammo in same box. Us FFL's do pay shipping costs on all guns delivered whether it UPS, FEDEX, or USPS when we order guns.
Maksim 1,504 Posted September 26, 2009 trust me, the manufacturers do not pay that much on fedex. those guys have national contracts with them, and pay a fraction of what consumers pay.
