matty 810 Posted July 18, 2010 If it "sounds funny" stop & safe the gun and check it out-- http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/show ... p?t=322428
BMWR12 35 Posted July 18, 2010 I once blew apart a K43. It was not cool but was caused by a one improperly made part. You always take this chance shooting mil surplus weapons.
coldsolderjoint 84 Posted July 18, 2010 unless someone is shooting back at you, make sure you double check when something sounds funny.
JimmyAGR 54 Posted July 18, 2010 Wow, very lucky man. That would probably be considered a flash hider in NJ, .
Maksim 1,504 Posted July 18, 2010 As funny as this sounds... make this a learning moment. This could of been prevented had he bothered to take a moment and verify. if a round doesnt go off as it should.... wait for possible hangfires, then eject and inspect. dont just fire off another round. DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted July 18, 2010 Wow! Lucky that was at the end of the barrel!
Pew Pew Plates 358 Posted July 20, 2010 Garand-blunderbuss! I had a bunch of picked up ammo i was shooting out of my K38. 1 in 5 was a wet round i guess. Mostly the rounds stuck in the forcing cone and had to get tapped out, but once or twice the HBWC bullet made it HALF way out the muzzle! I just grabbed it with my fingers and pulled it out LOL. And another few times it made it out but so slow i watched it just drop to the ground. ...which is all fine as long as you know when to check to barrel!
