Mossberg Tactical .22

Recommended Posts

I was considering the M&P 15-22 but with the pricepoint of the Mossberg Tactical I think it wins!

What say you?

The lightweight and fast-handling Tactical .22 parallels the look and feel of today’s AR-style rifle while being built around Mossberg International’s reliable .22 autoloader. Taking cues from their proven 702 autoloader' date=' the Tactical .22 matches an 18” barrel to a quad rail forend allowing the operator to fit the rifle with lights, lasers or other tactical accessories. Two stock configurations will be offered in this series: a six-position adjustable and fixed stock. The six-position polymer stock adjusts the length of pull from 10-3/4” – 14.5” accommodating youth and smaller framed shooters up to adults. The fixed position stock has a standard 13” LOP. The Tactical .22 is integrated with an A2-style carry handle and an adjustable rear sight aligned with a front post sight. The Picatinny handle mount is included, allowing versatility in scopes and other optics while providing the clearance necessary to utilize the AR-style sights. Other features included with the Tactical .22 are sling mounts and a ten round magazine.[/quote']

Eventually want to get a big boy AR rifle but this will have to do for now. Something my girlfriend and I can both enjoy and at some point my younger brother.

Sorry forgot to include that on the OP.

I believe it's $276 retail.

I've already been quoted $283~ on gungenie. That includs NICS and tax.

I hate to sound....negative but that just does not strike me as a quality or anywhere in the vacinity of quality item.....

it's all good...

i mean i haven't seen it in person myself but i'll save judgement for when i get to hold one.

out of curiosity though what about it makes it seem of lower quality?

i know you're one of the more knowledgeable persons on here regarding ARtype stuff

This is the plinkster in a new body save yourself the money. my first gun purchase was a plinkster along with 15 mags for it. the gun has never worked right. i never had a fail to fire but i've had a ton of jams like 1 or 2 per mags. not fun if you want just a 22 and have patience i'll sell you that but cant say i didn't warn you.......

back to the drawing board then :icon_redface:

i guess i'll skip the 22 and go straight to 223/5.56- then at least i can post with the men in the AR Discussion forums...

but really- the pricepoint is really attractive but I will wait and see what initial reviews are.

1/10 jams might be a headache but 1/100 is certainly tolerable so we'll see!

not that i have seen, also your GF can more than likely handle a 5.56/ .223 they have barely any recoil, ahh the glorified .22 i love it, just think of the .22 lr with a huge bang and a lot more accuracy
