How to ship a big rifle case?

Sold a rifle on Gunbroker. Comes in a large Pelican case... dont think I can find a box big enough? Any ideas for how to package it?

 

Maybe just wrap it in the paper, take the heck out of it and slap a fedex label on it? About 35 lbs.

Bring it to the UPS store. They have boxes to fit anything. For a price, of course.

I've shipped stuff all over the world. When we get oddball sizes like this we just use several boxes, a utility knife and lots of tape. If you have plastic wrap that will help maintain any finish. Believe it or not cardboard can be quite scratchy on shiny surfaces.

i went to my local gun store and they gave me a box that they get there long guns shipped in.

Found that if I redo USPS flatrate large boxes, gives me the required 43 inches circumference around the case. Will be good to go. will be having fun tomorrow.... but hey... at least getting some more space free.
