NJ Compliant Buttstocks

The State of New Jersey seems to believe that a collapsible stock confers special powers to a semi-automatic rifle, somehow making it a public menace. Thus, gun enthusiasts in the state are forced to incorporate fixed stocks on their AR-type rifles. I personally have an aversion, however, to pinning (disfiguring) a perfectly good collapsible or folding stock.

 

I thought I'd start a list of commercially available fixed stock offerings. Presumably, these buttstocks are legal in New Jersey. However, please have someone who is very familiar with the laws confirm this before you spend money on a new stock or attach a questionable stock to your AR. The penalties for breaking the law in this area are harsh. (Note - I am not an AR expert - more a neophyte. I'm still in the "research stage" for purchasing my first AR.)

The only stock in question is the Magpul, which IS NJ legal. The length of the stock is the same, as it doesn't move. The adjustments do NOT make it an adjustible or folding stock. Just so everyone knows.

They are solid. I have a cav arms lower which is made from the same material.

 

DSGarms also carrys the cav arms stuff.

No, because adjustments aren't considered "collapsible or folding". If Caso's brings those stocks in then it's definitly legal. If it's in quesion at all, then Frank won't order it.

I just had my Magpul ACS pinned. It's not like it was made out of unobtanium and cost a mint.

Is the pinning permanent or can it be unpinned with hand tools? Just wondering in case you had to adjust the stock for different shooting positions.

It's possible to pin the stock in a manner that can be un-done, but mine was pinned and glued and pinned again. It's not going anywhere. I'm going to need a new tube and stock after our state gets its pants sued off over our archaic laws.
