My understanding is that the R1 is the same as an H1 except for the difference in color. The main difference between an H1 and the top of the line T1 is that the T1 is NVG compatible and can be submerged to greater distances. I have no plans to go scuba diving with my AR, and NVGs aren't in my foreseeable future, so I went with an H1 when I was in the market for a non-magnified optic. So the R1 at this price is a GREAT buy and if I wasn't working on some other firearm purchases right now, I'd buy at least one or two of these.
