Wondering what everyone keeps in their range bag. Also looking for the must have first aid items to throw in there. Maybe a small first aid kit

There is always something I wish I had but can never remember later, and always things I don't use but usually think I might.

 

I feel like I'm so organized when I leave, but 3 minutes after I get there everything is a mess anyways.

A roll or two of 4" Kling (rolled gauze), a few 4x4's, maybe a 5x9 dressing or two, a roll of 2" medical tape, and of course a bunch of band-aids. Any pharmacy will have these items, and they really don't take up much space at all.

Way too much soda gets drank at my house, so I use the food coloring to fill up the bottles and make them pretty colors and shoot them. I guess since I do it at home I really have no reason to keep it in my range bag, but at least this way I always know where it is!

I know most of your responses will be "I'd rather be prepared then not" but wow, I can't believe how much crap you guys bring to the range.

 

i just bring guns, ammo, targets and a couple other little things like pens and earplugs and stuff.

My range bag itself is quite simple, and no behemoth like Petey's

Just ammo, lube, Gerber, ear/eye pro, tape, and notebook & pen.

 

As for the emergency duffel in my trunk? Well, that's a whole different beast...

I'd rather have it and not need it... Pretty much mine is like Caine's. I keep a rifle rod in there in case of a squib. Also some cleaning patches, Hoppes No.9, Gun Scrubber, a blanket for the bench, first aid kit with quick clot, chamber flags, and some emergency power bars. Surprisingly I've needed the first aid kit twice since the summer.

Yep pinched thumbs and webbing bleed a lot.

 

Hopefully I never need the Quick Clot. I have the sport version, but I'd rather have the First Responder level instead.

Not trying to take over the thread but seems like a good place for this. What do you guys recommend bringing as a starter for a outdoor range (handgun, shotgun usage) ?

I don't know where to start.

 

Half have copies of Form 1s and Form 4s. Most have ears, eyes, markers, tape, oil, screw-on lid from an instant coffee container, and at least one loaded handgun (except for some SMG bags). From there it gets crazy. I try to keep a lot of certain stuff in all of them but there is a lot of other stuff that's often in some and not in others.
