matt6669 71 Posted July 24, 2011 hey guys What ammo would be the quietest in a 10/22. I'm talking super duper stealth hopefully as quiet or quieter than a bb gun. Thanks
GRIZ 3,369 Posted July 24, 2011 Super Colibri is very quiet in a rifle but you'd have to feed one at a time.
matt6669 71 Posted July 24, 2011 hmmm I'm not sure that stuff is going to take down a squirrel. Maybe I need to go a little louder than that stuff

robs609 2 Posted July 24, 2011 The cci cb longs are just as quiet as my pellet gun. But you have to cycle the gun manually there isn't enough pressure to do it on its own .
Old School 611 Posted July 24, 2011 hmmm I'm not sure that stuff is going to take down a squirrel. Maybe I need to go a little louder than that stuff Hey numb nuts! I have some super cabrini. Come over, sight your rifle in, in the yard, and go shoot those bastards. If my 800fps Sheridan kills them these will.
djg0770 481 Posted July 24, 2011 10/22 Questiest ammo Hey numb nuts! I have some super cabrini Between the two of you, the Grammar Nazi had a stroke.
tbtrout 141 Posted July 24, 2011 The CB shorts will work. Use to use them for squirrels all the time as a kid. They will not cycle though. But why not get a pellet gun. I will give you one of the dozen or so that I have.
djg0770 481 Posted July 24, 2011 I'm sure that you are not advocating using either a 22 or a pellet gun for hunting squirrels within NJ - this must be for your remote property in PA, correct?
matt6669 71 Posted July 24, 2011 absolutely correct Dan. I only hunt deer in NJ with my shotgun and bow, no squirrels over here in NJ. CB shorts may be a possibility as well. PS Tim, I will call you tomorrow may take you up on that!

Private property in NJ during a regulated hunting season with a valid Rifle Permit.
djg0770 481 Posted July 25, 2011 Private property in NJ during a regulated hunting season with a valid Rifle Permit. Yeah - I looked for that in the Digest for about 8 months Tim - want to point me to where a Rifle is permitted for taking of Squirrels? Not saying it's not there - just saying I sure has heck couldn't find it.

Not saying it's not there - just saying I sure has heck couldn't find it. Apparently it only reads Woodchucks in the Digest with a 22. I will have to do some more digging. When I got my stuff ( a while ago ) it was ok. You could also use Centerfire 22's on private property for Woodchuck. Has that changed too? I have not done anything except Pheasant Hunting for many years now.
matt6669 71 Posted July 25, 2011 Thanks for the video mark. It seems either the shorts or the colibri will work sound wise I just wonder if I can get cb shorts in hollowpoint hmm

I say I believe because I only saw that woodchuck says .22 is allowed.
