Gun case

Recommended Posts

I use a regular hardshell plastic case for each of my rifles, and either the factory cases or aftermarket pistol cases for my pistols.

I have one double rifle case, but I only use that for my two shotguns that I don't care about getting scratched and whatnot. That is why I don't like double cases, even if they are strapped in they seem to bounce into each other while transporting. I don't like cases that you can put a whole bunch of firearms in either, it might be more convenient but I just prefer to have them all in their separate cases.

Couldn't you just take the light off your AR when you go to transport it and put it in another bag for something, instead of having to buy another case? Doesn't make much sense to me. Plus I doubt you shoot with your light all the time.

thanks,

The light and mount are attached by allens. figured it was easier to get a new wide case than take off and on. I understand thr scratching thing.but for s une of the crappy old 22's I don't care.

For my ar-15 I use a fox tactical. They are American made and made really well. Their is an army navy store near me that stocks them.

For my pistol I use a small soft case with 2 mag pouches. I don't know the brand I picked it up at a gun shop. But they are made in Pa and wv so I went with it.

For my scopes rifles I use hard cases

Non scoped shotguns get a standard soft case

Just whatever garbage plastic cases I got with past OEM rifle purchases. Any extra hanguns just go in the front pockets on airport-style luggage, or glove box, or on the floor behind the front seats. If we run out of cases just throw rifles in the back seat or on the floor if we are not worried about scratching them up. Sometimes wrap them in blankets. Subgun types are pretty well protected in old laptop bags. They usually have a pouch so you can throw in a silencer or extra handgun. I have never thrown away an old laptop bag when trashing out old company equipment.

You really don't need to spend a lot of money on this stuff unless you want to be stylin' at the range or are transporting specific firearms for specific purposes. Absent the latter, just look around the house for stuff you already use to drag crap around.
