Recommended Posts

First im seeing of it, pretty cool idea if you have the need/want for long term storage of ammo for when z-day comes.

nearly 30 bucks for a 100 pack, i wouldnt buy it for my range use... but cool idea though.

how long does ' normal ' ammo actually last? ( 50 round boxed ammo )

In a cool dry place, 50+ years or more. Sealed in a spam can or somesuch, probably hundreds of years. The only caveat to that would be paper shotgun shells. They were a lot more sensative to humidity and may only last 20 years or so before they're swelled too much to fit in a shotgun.

If that's the case, I really dont see the need to go the ' extra 10 miles ' for the canned storage, i mean it's not food. If it has a 50 year shelf life, im sure 80 years down the road it would still PRoBABLY fire.

I plan to go with some high quality waterproof ammo boxes when I start packing away ammo when my basement storage room is done.

I wouldn't say this concept is without merit. Certainly, sealed in that can, it's going to be less subject to moisture. Imagine if your basement flooded..everything in these cans would be fine. The stuff in the boxes would likely be destroyed.
