n4p226r 105 Posted February 7, 2012 so there are tons and tons of different AK mags. who has good info on them. which are the best? most reliable? great the easiest? i always thought the bakelite ones look cool when i see them in wood guns. can anyone tell me more about them? is there a pmag equivalent? how about the tango down magazines? and finally, which ones can you get in 15rd or under? GottaGetOuttaNJ 0 Posted February 8, 2012 I have a bunch of the 15/20 Steel mags from MTN Armory. They arn't listed on the website, but call Mike at the number listed on the contacts page and he usually has them in stock. The last time I ordered they were 22$ each and about 5$ for shipping and he threw in a chinese mag pouch that holds 3 x 20 rounders for free. The mags function 100% and are built to last. http://mtnarmory.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2&zenid=f6c5c5ajleqi4jpl04jlhqte90
RecessedFilter 222 Posted February 8, 2012 Bakelite's are nice but not worth $50+ per mag. Then you gotta pin them, or get them pinned, overall PITA. Tapco 10rders have been great. 15rders from MTN are good too. I have yet to find double stack steel 5 or 10rders.
