RobertJames 14 Posted June 1, 2012 I recently added a JR Carbine to the safe. AR ergos, 9mm, uses Glock mags. Comes with a G17 10 round magazine. Did some searching, and have only found 10 and 17 round capacity. I have found 15 round G19 mags. Are the two essentially the same, aside from overall length? I think I read that 17 mags will fit a 19, as it is a full size gun, but the 19's will not fit into a 17 because it is more compact. If they are similar in shape and design, the carbine is not limited by the overall length of the magazine. Thanks in advance.
bry@n 195 Posted June 1, 2012 not sure I get all of what your saying but the magazines are the same shape. The mag should work but the 19 is definitely shorter. If The 17 mag hangs below the grip of the gun, then I would try a 19 mag.
RobertJames 14 Posted June 1, 2012 Here's what it looks like with the G17 10 round installed.
bry@n 195 Posted June 1, 2012 Yeah the g19 mag should work without issue.
RobertJames 14 Posted June 1, 2012 Excellent, thank you.
BigHayden 77 Posted June 1, 2012 The g26 subcompact mags would probably fit too.
Old School 611 Posted June 1, 2012 For just range use the KCI (Korean) mags should work just fine @$10 each. Use mags for G19.
RobertJames 14 Posted June 1, 2012 I ordered some genuine Glock mags, and will eventually order some of the KCI's.
hd2000fxdl 422 Posted June 3, 2012 I ordered some genuine Glock mags, and will eventually order some of the KCI's. Keep an eye out, last year I loaded up on the KCI mags for my G19, they were something like 12 or 13 bucks for the pair and that came with a nylon double mag holder. Caine 147 Posted June 3, 2012 CDNN has the asian Glock mags (not sure if they're KCI or some other brand) on sale for $5.99 this weekend: http://www.cdnninvestments.com/gl199mm15nom.html
Tactical Turtle 11 Posted June 3, 2012 The g26 subcompact mags would probably fit too. I'm pretty sure there single stack, so they won't work. On another note g17 mags work in a g19, as said before they will work.
bry@n 195 Posted June 3, 2012 G26 seem to be double stack. The NJ legal g17 mags are single stack. They will all work, but the g19 is the best bang for the buck. I also think the asian cdnn deal is great.
Caine 147 Posted June 3, 2012 I'm pretty sure there single stack, so they won't work. They're doubles Glock 26 can accept 26, 19, and 17 mags.
