Attention! Steer clear of these people.

Recommended Posts

I'm interested to hear if anybody else has had an interaction with this business. April 23rd I ordered an AICS stock for my .308 Remington 700. I asked the seller how long it would take to receive it to which I was informed several weeks. Several weeks went by and I received nothing. I emailed the company to no reply. A few emails later I got a mass email stating that a fraudulent credit card transaction had led to the bank shutting down their transactions pending investigations and that the internet site would be shutting down until further notice. I was mad but followed the advice in the email to ride it out making sure I would be able to take care of this if it was a scam. A week later the site was back up for business but nothing was being done about my item. I sent about 5 more emails before finally 3 months later, July 16th I sent a threatening email (I keep sending emails because the site allows for email contact only. No addresses or phone numbers to call. Shady right?). I got a reply the 17th to, "file a chargeback" I would not be receiving my item. After all this I had to go to my bank and spent over an hour on the phone and filling papers to get my 800+ dollars back. This site is takepointgear.com and I suggest that all my like minded brothers/sisters on NJGF steer clear of this site. If anybody has any more information to back this or dispute it please comment. Great customer service? I think not. I currently await my money as the bank is conducting an investigation...... Mad

Did you try call them?

I put the name in the middle so people would read it and understand why I'm bashing them.

Sometimes a voice can accomplish more than emails...

Whats the point of a call when the vendor tells you to go file a chargeback?

I agree... No contact info is an instant no go with me.... I'm a pretty savvy internet shopper, but that screams bs.

Well just looking at their website I would have said "PASS" and gone with a different vendor.

So berate him... Better yet, report him to the bbb.... While your at it on the bbb, check to see if he has any complaints, etc... Make him miserable.... ;) Destroy him.... Lol.

As for the number.... Let's just say I can be good at what I do.... But that one was ez... :)

How the hell did you get that number? Yeah he basically said flat out that he would not send me the item so file a charge-back which I did so no point in me calling... I'd berate him verbally if I called lol

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in
    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
