223/556 head stamp

I just started handloading 223/556 ammo.

 

Does anyone know if the head stamp "F C" is Military brass?

 

I do have LC brass which I know stands for Lake City which is Military.

 

If anyone can give me some help on this it would be appreciated.

 

Swaging is a whole nother issue I wont even get into right now

FC = Federal Champion - most likely not military brass, but I wouldn't count on it 100%...

BTW I reload this brass and have 2 or 3 loadings on the brass thus far.

 

Now keep in mind I only load 55gr bullets to about 2800 fps which is on the low side. Very accurate load but at 2-300yds a little more parabiolic in tragectory.

Im gonna give em a go and be cautious and suspect.

 

I too am using 55 grain bullets will be using H335. I will be using minus 10% from max load.

Do you know if I can reduce One or Two % more???

 

Wife enjoys shooting her AR with light recoil (arthritis in the shoulders) any help on how far below 10% would be appreciated.

Be very careful going below minimum loads. too much free space inside the brass can create a dangerous pressure spike too. going too low on an AR also can cause a case not to seal against the chamber. If the brass comes out all sooted up that means its not sealing well, This happens with NATO brass more than 223 brass.

I load this brass with 55 grains bullets, 25 grain H335, and find it to be quite a consistent nice load. I use the CCI #41 primers for it as well.
